a very gato christmas
(with apologies to dr seuss who did nothing to deserve this...)
the cats down in whoville were all in good health
and had found a solution for elf on a shelf
because christmas is fun and christmas is funny
they even invited their pal “easter bunny”
the presents were snug in their festive enwrapment
and kittens enticed by their annual entrapment
for the cats down in whoville love warm celebration
and coming together and not separation
they’re not scared of the green guy, no not anymore
once they came to their senses and showed him the door
(though many in whoville are still known to flinch
at the mere apparition of old mrs grinch…)
but all of her talons and boots that look mean
could not hope to equal this terrible scene
as donner and blitzen
were chopped into bits and
remind us that christmas ought not to be green
so join with the cats, everyone and every land
and follow them
it’s the time of the year to be all you can be
(and possibly to help re-adjusting the tree)
