The main takeaway from the experiments that I'd heard was that once the utopias started down the road of population collapse, nothing brought them back. I'd argue that the most developed countries are already having this population collapse if it weren't for immigration.

The old theory was that religion, family and community stood in the way of having the proles accept socialism.
Those are all valid points. Can anyone honestly say that "society" is better than 50 years ago?
