Wokies now criticize that book as a work of fantasy, because Russians and Chinese can do no wrong. At least that's what I experienced among my few remaining lefty friends. It is really delusional. These are the same people who now support Trump even, and reject the trans agenda, and are against covid19 jabs, but they are still pro-socialism and communism.

That's my top favorite - next to "Crime and Punishment" which I'm probably due for a re-read. Just finished "Brothers Karamazov". Yes, there are no better authors than the Russians (IMHO).
Regarding Gulag Archipelago, I've heard that some say it's a work of fantasy. Nobody has ever said that directly to me, but I do not think there is any evidence to suggest it is fantasy, and plenty of evidence supporting it to be true. Commie's gonna commie I guess. I'm 1/3rd of the way through "Brother's Karamazov", taking it nice and slow. It's a wonderful read.
Well, people took Gulag Archipelago serious for 40 years and suddenly it's "fantasy" - riiiiight. Yep: Commies gonna commie. Enjoy "Brothers" it is a wonderful read and I took about 4 months or so to read it.

I am also a huge fan of Russian literature. Just re-read Master and Margarita. Way better even than I remembered it!
