No self medicating doesn’t work, but neither do the psychoactive pharmaceuticals they give them either. Another arm of the Medical Industrial Healthcare Delivery System that needs a total rebuild… psychiatric medicine.

Psychiatry is basically based on a show of hands after asking those who show up if they’ve noticed many patients experiencing this or that symptom, and they go from there.

But to be fair, long ago a dr suggested I try Prozac because it was good for menstrual cramps (off label use and I was in pain). I took a 20 mg sample and the effects on me were as immediate as the etc day at work where I noticed I wasn’t angry, for once! It was like a miracle in that regard, and made me realize how angry I had been at everyone and everything (which is one of the ways in which depression manifests). Anyway, I ended up taking Prozac for a while and it helped a lot at the time. I was finally not in the constant grip of my emotions and was able to handle things better. Also, there is no withdrawal from Prozac.

What I’m sharing is in no way meant to be taken as a promotion, just my experience with that specific medication. I’ve also had lots of bad experiences with other meds that I could relay!
