Here, money laundering is done at the state-owned casinos, among other places (owning a business that doesn't break even is another trick).

Nope, not kidding.

See, they take cash. So, let's say I'm the designated "clerk" for Abo Istvan's criminal emporium, and Abo has told me to fix a couple of hundred thousand from black (swedish term for untaxed money/income) to white.

I'll just pop in to the casino, exchange a couple of tens to markers, join the weekly poker game (with Abo Istvan's competitor-colleagues), lose maybe a couple of thousands, have a beer and shrimp sandwhich in the bar and then cash out my markers.

And now that money is white - I get a receipt from the state's casino showing that I cashed out markers to a certain amount. Nowhere does it mention how I much changed to markers in the first place.

The tax office know this, the po-lice know it, the state know it - and everyone's happy, because this way the state profit from organised crime.

Yay?

This is a key point people must understand. Those who think bitcoin etc is a work around do not understand that there competitors include the State. They built and control they game to profit from it themselves. If you do not play ball an give them what they want, being cash or information on your clients, you are going down. So, anyone who invests in these should be aware of this.

Agree. Everyone needs to weigh the risks involved.

Many such cases. So easy to do with fiat monies.

The moral of the story though, is "make sure the state profits from your crimes/actions, and you'll be left alone or even invited to the grown-ups' table".
