I guess you could say it’s focused on how to pivot from their past lies to new messaging that will align with the polling preferences. This is entirely a perception management campaign in preparation for the midterms.

Expand full comment

Sadly it's ALWAYS been about the Political Science. (Nevada update coming soon, but you know what it says.)

we all know what will happen when schools lift mask mandates, no matter if they do it now or in two weeks or four weeks: nothing at all. Not only do mask-if-you-want schools in the US prove this, much of Europe NEVER forcibly put masks on children. No deadly covid waves sweeping through the halls.

The only disruption to schools from covid was government-created. First they shut down schools and ‘went remote’, with disastrous results. Teachers’ unions drug their feet as long as possible to avoid getting back into the classroom. They demanded ridiculous covid rules that further disrupted education as students were forced to quarantine every time a ‘close contact’ tested positive. WE’RE MAKING CHILDREN WEAR MASKS TO PLAY BASKETBALL, FOR GOD’S SAKE. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ARE WE DOING.

And now here we are. The winter wave is over (exactly when the seasonality theorists predicted — again), and even if we tried we couldn’t reverse the downward trend of the next couple months. Yet the ‘leaders’ are still willing to mask your children for a few more weeks to save a little political face. They can’t quite come out and say ‘it’s safe’ today when they were saying ‘it’s not safe’ yesterday. They need some sort of buffer to make it look like they know what they are doing. (For the first time in the last couple years)

These are the people who have been wrong about everything. They shut down your businesses. They literally killed grandma. They ruined your children’s education. They violated your civil rights. And they did it all while ignoring their own rules.

Yet these people have the nerve to stand up and demand students continue to wear masks that even the covid-crazy know don’t work.

Teacher here. Everything you say here is true.

Our county is doubling down on masks for kids, driven by a mostly out-of-control heath department that listens mostly to CDC and scared soccer moms.

When you bring up all the damage masks cause, you get “But don’t you trust the science?”

Here’s whaat I trust: These people care only about power.

Expand full comment

The unmasking of the teachers' unions might be the best thing about covid.

Expand full comment

It’s mostly the unions in large blue metro areas that are the culprits. They were the ones that were like “back to the classroom? WHOA! But safety!”

My union (medium-sized district) went along with whatever our admin proposed. Admin totally dragged feet on reopening. Lots of (rightfully) pissed parents. Teachers sorta got blamed.

Teachers tend to be rule followers. They bought the Covid hype and were used by large unions to further an agenda. This will not have the effect the unions were hoping for.

Expand full comment

"Teachers tend to be rule followers."

This I will never understand. And was a teacher for close to 25 years. Rules have no intrinsic value, only instrumental value and are thus subject to evaluation based solely on cost/benefit including methods of enforcement.

Rules are tools, not goals. It is sad to hear that your unions are just as [pick your pejorative] as are ours over here.

Expand full comment

Unfortunately today's teachers are largely government employees first, teachers second. A bureaucrat's biggest fear is that someone will show they didn't "follow the process". It doesn't matter if the process is immoral, obscene, and defies all common sense, they know they are safe if they can just show they followed what some clown wrote down.

Get your kids out of government schools now. You don't trust the government for literally anything else (with good reason), why in the world do you trust it to raise your kids?

Liked all, but your last line is priceless. That should be a billboard, bumper sticker and gone viral.

Completely agree. While I appreciate a few well-considered rules (no spitting in class) the directives from on high can almost always be considered useless.

Reading John Taylor Gatto’s experience At the hands of an incompetent administration was a real eye opener for me. They always try and silence the critics.

All of you teachers should have spoken up against masking, in support of your students.

Expand full comment

A few of us did (and are still doing so). I argued for going back, in person, when only a few parents were for it.

Didn’t matter.

You have to remember that people living in blue zone California have a dominant narrative that they follow. You know, “Well, I follow the science.” No one here goes against that or the local health department.

End up like me. I was the only one I am already in the doghouse.

Expand full comment

I’m so sorry. If others would have had your fortitude and joined you, you wouldn’t be. So frustrating!

Expand full comment

Exactly. School openings were determined by the strength of the teachers' unions in the district. It's sort of how the big blue cities keep strangling themselves with covid rules while the rest of the country ignores it completely. That won't stop the 'leaders' from taking credit, though.

Expand full comment

Why would any teacher be a 'rule follower?' Doesn't history show us in vivid color what happened to the 'rule followers?' Are teachers today too dumb to extrapolate the past to the present and then on into the future? Better to be a boat-rocker than a 'rule follower.' Think for YOURSELF, if you are still able to do so.

Expand full comment

Teachers tend to be rule followers to the same degree that people in any other industry tend to be rule followers. In other words, it entirely depends upon the teacher. It takes a slightly cynical, analytical person to question the propaganda machine that's been at work all over the world for the last couple of years. Most people have been rule followers, as can be seen by the high vaccination rates. I work at a private school in Florida, where we dumped the mask mandate at the beginning of the 2021-22 school year. It was a great decision, and while we have had people sick with Covid, the cases have been mild and well worth the normalcy in the classrooms.

Look at all of the over-registered voters, and the over-participation (i.e., more votes than registered voters) and it adds up, depending on who you listen to, to something like 7 million 'extra' votes for Biden. Who 'won' by something like 5.5 million -- ergo, get rid of the fake Biden votes and Trump wins by 1.5 mil, gets all CA's electoral votes and nobody cares about the 'swing states.' Trump is still president.

As a libertarian i dont understand this obsession with trump. People on the left demonize him which is unwarranted because he was not an authoritarian and then the MAGA crowd think he was saving america. Trump was largely a failure. I was genuinely hopeful at the beginning. His inaugural speech was wonderful . He addressed the assembled former presidents and told them how they ruined america ( alot of truth to that) Then he proceeded to blow up the deficit even more. He failed to roll back the state. He had an opportunity to veto veto veto every illegal crony evil thing that congress sent to him. He could have pardoned assange and snowden. He could have moved to eliminate departments like education , energy, transportation and more.

He failed to cut federal spending in real terms . Federal spending is the problem. Income taxes are the problems. The federal reserve is the problem. The US fed government couldnt get away with half of the evil crap it does without the $$$.

Trump wasted his time picking adolescent battles with clueless media people and trying to make himself look good. Wasnt this supposed to be about making america great again not making trump look great?

He acted like a raging narcissistic prick. Obama was a raging narcissistic a-hole but was much better than trump at fooling people and coming across like he actually cared about others.

Sure there were some things trump did that made energy more plentiful but he didnt make the changes necessary to prevent the next group from overturning those changes. Now we are faced w an even worse crises.

I hope trump does not run again because we would only have more hysteria from the left and these radical leftists and progressives only care about power and they will burn down our entire society to acheive it

Love him or hate him, he had us well on our way to energy independence and pulling back a federal gas tax will be a drop in the wind compared to that. I also hope he doesn’t run again, at this point I think Desantis is the lesser of the two evils.

Expand full comment

Yeah. Trump sucked, but he was no more corrupt or crappy than any of the rest of the Uniparty. And every Democrat I know seems to hate him for reasons that are absurd or non-existent rather than for any of his actual crappiness. I even had one family member equate him as at least equal to Biden as a fascist...because he sometimes tweeted some fascist things like "it sure would be great if I could be a dictator" but made no actual move to be one outside the fantasies of the TDS-addled. And would have no official backing even if he tried--his orders were already being completely ignored regarding pulling out of Iraq et al. The protests being crushed were all in blue cities/states and being crushed primarily by the orders of blue mayors/governors, but were somehow credited to Trump somehow singlehandedly making it all happen. They had him champion an effective covid treatment just so they could make it look absurd and dangerous by right of him supporting it and shut down any further discussion.of the subject of non-vax intervention. No one in any position of power took him that seriously.

In the meantime, Biden just went full fascist in 2020 in more than just language, declared a mass stripping of basic human rights across the board, and received massive backing and enforcement support, with many private companies still enforcing his mandates and the national guard being called up to put down the Freedom Convoy. And he and his admin have declared free speech they don't like to be officially legally classified as "terrorism" and all that that implies.

This is the kind of fascism in which Trump could only dream of successfully engaging. That is, if he wasn't running distraction for the Uniparty, as I strongly suspect he is/was. If not, that's how he's been used and continues to be used. My mom actually thinks he's the most powerful man in the country right now, despite not being President, and despite her earlier pre-2020 election insistence that we must focus solely on whoever is President to the exclusion of all others because that person is the most powerful.

Its like some people realize deep down that their only real reason to focus so much hatred on Trump alone is because his boorishness hit an emotional nerve and have to struggle to justify it on some other basis so they don't seem childish or petty. So Trump becomes simultaneously a gibbering idiot who can't tie his own shoes and a super genius criminal mastermind who can control all things without ever leaving a trace he was involved. And when your adversary is both helplessly incompetent and supremely supercompetent, you are following a religion no less than those who think "follow the science" means "believe whatever the guy with the biggest hat says and never ask for the data/reasons/etc".

The Federal tax on gasoline is about $0.18/gallon, a bit more for diesel. At current pump prices, that's only a few percent (and Florida is a lower cost state.) I doubt the USG has authority to override State taxes, a much bigger bite.

Good stuff! The "Distraction Machine" is in full operation now, as the COVID narrative is crumbling.

The only thing that will really matter as this comes to an end (such as it is), is getting rid of the vaxxport. That is their holy grail -- the raison d'être of the whole episode. Part of the WEF/NWO plan for our future.

Beware of the promise (as in the UK apparently): "We'll get rid of all restrictions, mandates etc. as soon as we have the Green Pass implemented."

Those who would trade freedom for security deserve neither and will ultimately lose both.

Oh good, now I don't have to listen to "them." I prefer to read Substack follow ups much, much more ; )

(After gagging….🤢—this letter is nauseating) It’s the constituency that I want to see wake up. The politicians are beyond hope; they are out for themselves alone. I hope for the sheep to start thinking logically.

For all those who chose to ignore the government’s no scientific narrative, who dug deeper and now have a better understanding of what just took place over the past two years, congratulations. To all the rest, watch Brandon’s state of the union nonsense, to reassure yourself they did not lie to you, much.

As we already knew. There was "war" alright, waged against good folks who didn't deserve what was done to them. Many didn't survive this that didn't die from virus. I will not forget, not forgive. Do real research in your local elections, and begin the wave toward 2024 that will help wash these evil liars and narcissistic psychopaths from our lives. Keep your children awake enough so that as they grow up, they will act right away when this is tried again. Because it will be the same thing disguised as something different. They are all liars and delusional imo

"Necessitated" - first sentence. They already blew it there. How many of these past memos haven't we seen? Imagine the trail these would leave over the past 2 years.

Expand full comment

Or maybe this one is closer to what we're seeing now? It's hard to keep up when they start sounding like Team Reality.

Now that covid is dragging down poll numbers, the ‘leaders’ are going to declare victory and pat themselves on the back for the NPIs they claim were the key to defeating the virus. They will remain silent on states that lifted those NPIs long ago, or never even had them to begin with, because those states lay bare the truth — we never had control over the virus and destroyed untold lives pretending we did.

So when these ‘leaders’ demand credit for NPIs, let’s oblige them — in the form of obliterating all vestiges of their power.

Every single sentence in this memo makes me livid. A good illustration of how these fuckwads see the(ir) world. I despise and hate them in every way possible.

Thank you I just posted the letter on my seldom used FB page. We'll see if anyone is savvy enough to get the point.

Yeah, go ahead and tell them how you saved them by forcing them to take a vax they didn't want, or lose their jobs. And we'll wait and watch as more horrendous data leaks out, and more people have mysterious illnesses that won't go away and often end in death. Watch how they spin that one: "we didn't know ", "we did the best we could", "its Trump's fault"......

Tbh, I'm stunned they haven't already tried to use that last one yet. And continue to be stunned that they continue to not use it.

I agree! To quote CNN's Don Lemon (among others) you got to "Burn it all down" and that was what he was encouraging when he said it.

Lemon's never been to any country where they tried that, has he?

I almost wish him poverty. Then we could start a charity for him. Lemon Aid.

Here is what I hope happens here:

The right sees this and laughs (we fucking knew this all along)

The center looks at this and goes WTF(so you were lying all this time???)

The left goes into apoplectic mode (because COVID CAN'T BE OVER!!!!!)

A perfect strategy to alienate all sides.

“Prevented the economy from going into freefall” ahh sure. What? Huh? No. They wrecked small businesses (actually Trump started that, not gonna blame totally on Dems but they did nothing to rectify or change), tried mass murder (while Trump authorized vaxes, he did not make mandatory and doubt he would have), added trillions in debt, now in a war we probably shouldn’t be in, and lied about.... well just about everything

We're saved - yea!!! All of the gobshite leaders that drank the kool-aid will leverage (spin) current events to their advantage with full support of their propoganda arm (the gutter press) - I know it will make us all sick to our stomachs, so I'm keeping some tummy tabs handy.

I really want to comment here but I’m literally speechless after reading that memo. UNBELIEVABLE 🤯

I can't get over all the elite-class moms whining on Twitter about their kids having to eat outside, in distanced solitude--when these are exactly the people who can afford to remove them from ongoing torture. Commiserating peer-to-peer but essentially-fuck them kids! We're Democrats!

It's all about "misinformation". Misinformation is just the latest leftist boogeyman in their hall of mirrors, including racism, global warming, white privilege, etc etc. Do you know what “misinformation” means to a leftist? It means they've arbitrarily appointed themselves judge, jury, and executioner about what you're allowed to say.

One way to counter this insane nonsense is to ask:

On whose authority does the left judge what constitutes “misinformation”? What are the objective criteria by which they judge “misinformation”? What are the falsification criteria? What gives them any right to presume they're allowed to judge at all?

You can be assured their answers amount to nothing but moral narcissism, confirmation bias, political paranoia, and gratuitous power grabs. If you think there's any real definition behind that word, then you're exactly the fool the left assumes you to be.
