so look, i don’t mean to be a little preachy-paws or anything, but, um, if you guys are falling for the “once they get this up and running it will only be used against terrorists” schtick i kinda gotta ask: “what world have you been watching?”
cuz, call me mr cynical paws, but this sure does seem like a deliberate program to sidestep the limits of missouri v biden and build the infrastructure for mass surveillance and suppression.
Those given the money from the grants fund are expected to develop prevention programming at the community level that would stop “targeted violence and terrorism,” as well as come up with innovative prevention ideas, and “identify prevention best practices that can be replicated in communities nationwide.”
and, um, i think maybe calling this an “arts” program with impact on health, education, food, income security, and “cultural affairs” is kind of a big fricking hint on where this is going and what kind of dissent it’s probably going to wind up focused on.
and i think maybe you’re probably not going to like it, because, uh, they have sorta abused this stuff in the past.
but don’t lose hope guys! because we know what’s what, and they can never take that away from us!
This grant is the epitome of this quote:
The illusion of freedom in America will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater. -Frank Zappa
The gloves have come off. The stage-play has concluded. The government is coming for us.
The most infuriating part is they are using the tax dollars citizens pay to oppress those same citizens.
