I guess some people can accept an undefined solution to an undefined problem. When I hear the word "god", I think nature or Santa Claus in the sky (long flowing white beard, Zeus, Odin, etc). I can accept nature as the system in place but it doesn't care about what I think or pray for. The dude abides. Right?

"god is in control" doesn't mean anything but people keep saying it.
It can mean it gives you the faith to preservere even when you don't see how the solution will be achieved.
