It is almost as it every tenet of all of these movements is made to be deliberately absurd in some twisted attempt to unmoor the world from all rational thought. ‘The planet is going to incinerate if we don’t immediately stop emitting all carbon! Black people are being deliberately massacred by the police! Covid is going to kill us all unless we cower alone for the rest of eternity! Men are women if they say they are!’

No one is better than the Left at manufacturing and perpetuating impending or immediate “disasters” for which just enough mostly anecdotal data can be plucked, manipulated or outright made up to “prove” the need for immediate, massive and incredibly expensive action to avert catastrophe. Just make certain they all are sufficiently amorphous and long term to require ingrained, perpetual steps designed to never actually solve the imagined crisis, although guaranteed to enrich and empower the grifters in perpetuity. None stand up to true scientific scrutiny, but no matter, just shout all the louder and change the scientific method when necessary. Climate - née Global Warming! Covid! Racism! Sexism! Police Brutality! White Supremacy! War on Poverty! War on Drugs! If there was sufficient money and power involved they could make Stephen King look like a comedy writer by comparison as creators of terrorizing fiction. Come to think of it, he may be their spiritual advisor.

Thx, el gato malo.

If you don't worship Gaia they will make you apostate for worshiping crude oil.

Coincidentally: US was exporting oil a year ago, last week it net imported about the same volume! US reserves are down slightly since last April.

I read on an economic blog the biggest "saving" CO2 activity is not having a human child. About 20 times the 'savings' of not driving an automobile ever!

I read another "pro green" article that said don't expect to have your solar installation pay for itself, you are saving "indivisible" [externality] CO2 harms ...........

Quick look at complex pie chart in NYTime: Biden's $4T in inflationary "stimulus" to ruin the capitalist system includes $174B for electric vehicles. $85B for public transit and $100B for improving the grid/clean energy,

If they spend 85B so you don't drive, they should spend 20 times tha so you won't have children.

Check my math: 20x85 is 1700B or 1.7 T.

I'm old enough to remember when they were going to "save the planet" by literally throwing carbon into the air to warm the earth.

climate change is a Bourbon legend. ;)

I think what drives the mass scale buy-in (that's giving wind to the elites' sails) is the guilt that most people feel inside (for failing to live an honest, unspecial, self-deconstructive/contemplative life?) which they try to escape/expiate by being good citizens and singing up for the trending environmental or social cause...

people are lemmings lemming along under the reigning paradigm. always and already... and social media, of course, just amplifies aggravates the whole phenomenon.

(by the by, you also use lowercase letters at the beginning of your sentences. I picked it up form Bukowski. it's easier on the eye. plus there's less pretense in the vibe? I've found you through Julius Ruechel and am glad that I did.)

best wishes from Hungary!

I'd love to be convinced that global warming theory is nutters, but this https://climate.nasa.gov/climate_resources/155/video-annual-arctic-sea-ice-minimum-1979-2020-with-area-graph/ looks like an actual decline. There are multiple lines of evidence from animal and flora migration, bloom times etc. to ocean pH and current changes, ocean temps, air temps, wildfires...maybe some of these are hyped or exaggerated or would have happened anyway, but it's hard to explain it all away. Not to deflect you from your work on The vaccines, but I'd love to see a good take down of global warming. So far nothing I've seen is convincing, it looks like a simple story (more CO2 -> higher temps) that's playing out in real life. I DO think it will be exploited to do the stupidest (and cruelest) things imaginable but it's nevertheless a real thing.

Why is there a severe drought in the West?

Why have there been severe heat waves the past few years?

Why did Texas lose power? ALL of Texas. It FROZE.

Why is the Great Barrier Reef disappearing?

Speaking of Tuvalu, a few years back, my brother, during one of his oh-so-fun visits, was preaching at me as we were going along in the car. Tuvalu was about to be engulfed by the ocean!!! Climate change, climate change, climate change! I pointed out that the environmentalists were being overwrought. Before I had much of a chance to mention evidence, my brother, given that he's really into diplomacy and open conversation, said that in Europe (where he lives), no one questions climate change. Except the few people whom everyone else sees as mentally unstable.* The conversation ended with him barking, "Tuvalu!!! Don't you care about Tuvalu?!?!?"

Anyway, later in the day, I went to by brother's room to invite him to lunch as I was going to meet my husband at his office and go with him to a sandwich shop. My brother said, "Sure, let me get the car keys." I said, "Oh, no. We're walking. There's no parking nearby." My brother gasped, "I can't WALK! Not in this heat!"

So much for Tuvalu, eh?

*I suppose it never occurs to him that if you shut conversation down by calling the other person crazy, they're not likely to keep sharing their views. Anyhoo . . .

Brilliant, hombre. But who is running this Cult Covidian op? By that, I mean, who gives Schwab et al their marching orders and by what means are those orders distributed?

"the slowness means the con is hard to spot"

True but how on earth can we explain that the speed at which governments have been proved wrong/useless/lying again and again with covid is only comparable to the speed at which populations are accepting their feed.

Your posts are the highlights of my days, and this your best one yet. God, I hope you're right about the silver lining part. But then again...the only reason I can make any sense at all of how it is that people can possibly believe this covid nonsense is that I've been watching rational thought die a slow and painful death for twenty years now. I fear we may be too far gone...

The next two months are gonna be brutal as they squeeze out another 10% of the willing-unwilling to get to 60% mrna vax uptake. Glad I am sitting this out out.
