The media is essentially all government controlled, the indoctrination in the school system is relentless, and the national ethos of politeness means that anyone who rocks the boat gets immediately excluded from polite society.

This is so true. They think they are free, but they have no idea what freedom is. And meanwhile their air of superiority is so confusing to me...
