I remember noticing that when the TSA began hiring after their creation following 9/11: they advertised for the people that now bully and humiliate us at airports on the backs of pizza delivery boxes and the backs of trashy local city newspapers (the ones with sections for escort services).
They knew exactly who they were looking for: low-IQ losers eager to feel powerful.
