The Bhagavad Gita, Krishna was Arjuna’s charioteer lecturing him before the battle against the Kauravas ( the other side of Arjuna’s family, whom Arjuna knew well), and he was basically saying he would not fight them. Krishna made it clear this was Arjuna’s Dharma. That he was a warrior, and refusing to fight would confuse the world and be misunderstood as cowardice…. No way to lead his people.
