I believe you just made a choice there at the end. Choices are personal. Why would want to quantify the unquantifiable? I get the impression (perhaps erroneously) you may have had a choice bite you in the ass. Been there, done that. Why would you want anything or anyone to quantify that? It’s uniquely yours, based on your knowledge & your beliefs absolutely and of course we own them, they’re ours to begin with. This sounds like a philosophy paper I did when I was a junior in high school.
I agree, hence the reason why I don't say owning "ALL" of them, because claiming ownership, like making the choice to begin with, is a personal decision. I think what you are getting at, but I could be wrong, is that regarldess of "owning" all my choices, I am responsible for them. I agree.
For instance, when someone chooses who they marry, they often blame the other person for their life turning out the way it did, but they made the choice to marry them. This is why, for people who have been abused, they often should get therapy as for some glitch in the human nature brain wiring, they almost can't help choosing people that are abusive.
