I checked the radar around the time JM did, I noted that there weren't any rainstorms in the region at the time. Storms do clear up pretty fast around here, so if all the lightning strikes smoldered long enough ... that's really reaching though.
Thanks - you guys up in NW Ont? - nice! - I have fond memories of walking the area, Terrace Bay - what's that mountain? - I was there (then vax at the border started). I guess my point was: step back! - understand that forest fires are entirely natural events, essential to forest health and growth - fail to understand that (as so many do) and boom! - there's the "climate crisis" wedge (and the e.g. directed energy wedge as well). The claim has been made that this year's Canadian fires are related to too much fire suppression.
