I have still never asked myself that. The only thing that has scared me in this whole debacle has been the actions of various governments and the ease with which many people accept the chains government places on them. I still have trouble really "getting" that some people really bought this whole thing. My first reaction when I see someone masked (which is probably 5-10% of people now) is that they aren't aware they are not required to use them. It just doesn't compute that they willingly don their "Slave in Training" regalia.
Silva, the masked know they are not required to wear them. If an adult is wearing them now, most - vastly most - are wearing them because they are broken and mentally ill. I am not saying that to be mean to maskers. My husband thinks a bit of shaming will snap them out of it - like wake up and stop the nonsense! But they never do. They treat the mask like it will protect them from everything and don't want to think about it because the prospect of it not doing that is too much to take. They are brittle. Just where the people running this scam want them. IMO of course.
I often wonder these days why there are two camps (afraid and deluded v awake and fighting - as I see it of course!) - like the constituents of each camp, how they got there, remain there and how do some switch camps. I know very few in the awake camp. The common thread in my life so far is most are Christians. 2 are not. I live in a weird place demographically so I think that might not be the thing. If you have thoughts on this I'd appreciate them. It is mostly why I write here. I am fairly alone in the awake camp.
Raptor, I feel the same way. In my blue (university) town, I have not met ONE other awake person. I often think that's because: 1) there aren't many around; 2) those who are comprehend that they're in a very small minority are reluctant to "come out" because of the ridicule and strife they've already encountered... like I did a year ago when I came out against getting vaccinated and was met by puzzlement, disbelief, cajoling, and ultimately social rejection.... my own bestie sister would not see me, except from several yards away (feels really hurtful) for all of 2021 and has allowed me in her presence a couple of times since "when the [Covid] numbers are low." And now with emerging possibility of "shedding" from vxxd folks (which she'd never ever consider as possible), where does that leave us?
One? I commend you for holding your ground and keeping your sanity. Our family members of the same age group (meaning all of the sisters and brothers from my family and husband's family are unvaccinted minus one . The elders and kids all got jabbed, minus one who got covid was given remdesevir and died shortly after. But few have cut each other off for their decisions. I hear this happening a lot and I think it is among the saddest thing happening. And not a coincidence. A pretty neat trick to separate families.
The separation of loved ones, family and friends, seems to be one of the principal desired results of the last two years' policies. Disagreement and strife at the level of social circle has evil, well-planned consequences. I only hope more people open their eyes and identify where the grief is coming from-- and that it doesn't get worse (the evildoing from "on high" and the reaction to it).
Agreed! Just talking to my husband about the 2 camps and why. He thinks that some are trusting and others are more skeptical. Some see the government as their protector, think they are like their parent or priest who is the ultimate authority and would not hurt them. Others because they don't feel that way, carefully scrutinize what the government (authority) does and says. Why are the tattooed, piercing, look to have a rebellious streak... who seem like they might be ones in the skeptical camp are usually, as it turns out, not? Because they are not. It is all just acting out - on paper. Like a child who rebels, but when hurt runs to mom for comfort. No ability to tough it out.
We have lost lots of social friends. The social friends used to try to pretend we were vaccinated - until they couldn't. It just became too much. We have lost no real friends. It still sucks. I can't imagine living in a state or territory where the madness still rules.
I agree- how can people be so hoodwinked? Common sense?? Critical thinking? Strange how some have it and some don't.
People in my area still mask a lot-esp college students. I have worked in healthcare during this whole time and going to stores, etc, not really thinking about the risk. If I get it, I get it. But I haven't. And I have what I need in my back pocket.
But people are still so worried about getting "the infection". I want to say- remember how for the last 50 years you just lived your lives without freaking out about getting sick. The fear campaign on this was really effective.
I'm glad there is so many of us AWAKE people out there!
