Wow. Here in Arizona. mask prevalence is about 5-10% (and I make a pastime of counting masked vs nonmasked individuals whenever I go out, so it's a pretty good estimate).
I left California more than 20 years ago, when I could see the way things were heading. I'd only moved there eight years before that... it had been a long-time dream to live there, and I did indeed have some wonderful times and meet some incredible people. In only eight years, though, the dream was over.
I am just glad that I got to experience the "golden state" while it still had some lustre remaining. It's gone now, truly. It's a shame, because other than the horrible political situation over there, it is really beautiful. With their politics being as they are, though, I don't even want to visit, let alone live there.
