It's way past time for everyone speaking out about this to stop sugar coating the issue.

This is child abuse. Period.

Forget showing any of the idiots who promote or go along with this in schools, or anywhere for that matter, RCT studies on the uselessness and dangers of masks. Take offense- directly accuse them of child abuse for that is what this is.

Where my brother lives in Arkansas they told the kids no masks for Fall 2020. The day before the first day of school they changed it and said the kids must wear masks. What did the parents do? They stormed the school board meeting and protested every day before school and got the masks off the kids.

In a school district in Florida they camped outside the school board members houses until they got the masks off the kids.

Playing nice with abusers does not work.

Expand full comment

100% you are correct. This needs to stop, but it has to be stopped by people who are directly involved with the schools (meaning, MY outrage they don't care about!)

But do your tax dollars go to the schools?

The problem is that many of their parents drank all the koolaid and support these abusive practices completely. How do you convince them when their egos get in the way? remember that these are mostly NPR-listening, NYT-reading covidians of the highest order.

I am a teacher at a completely covid crazy private school and I can confirm that these abusive policies continue without too much of a challenge. I wrote about this on my substack if anyone would like to read about what's going on:

https://allamericanwarriormonk.substack.com/p/notes-from-the-covid-classroom-2

I will be updating my "notes from the covid classroom" soon. But here's the gist of my recent battle:

Just last week I got called into my head of school's office because he heard that I have been telling the kids to challenge the covid outdoor lunch policy. I did an entire lesson on the myth of asymptomatic spread and why the masks and outdoor lunch policy are not rooted in science but are superstitious nonsense. I then said to the kids to let their parent's know if they're tired of eating off the cold ground in below freezing weather and to contact the school and complain.

I then said to the the head of school/ principal in a meeting that his policies are psychopathological and not rooted in the scientific literature and that history will judge those who perpetuate these abusive policies. I did not hold back. I honestly think I may have gotten him to start considering the fact that he's a victim of a psychological operation.

One parent that I know of emailed the school the next day in frustration because her daughter won't eat anymore because of the conditions she's under. I feel a resistance mounting.

It's beyond time everyone takes a stand against the madness. I wish that my colleagues weren't such cowards. But the kids seem to be sick of the bullshit. And the parent's might finally be willing to take a stand at my school. It's only getting colder. Time will tell.

Don't call them "liberals". They are leftists.

The term "liberal" comes from the latin "liber", which means free. Leftists are modern-day slavers who want the State as the absolute master of us all. They are the antithesis of liberal.

"The champions of socialism call themselves progressives, but they recommend a system which is characterized by rigid observance of routine and by a resistance to every kind of improvement. They call themselves liberals, but they are intent upon abolishing liberty. They call themselves democrats, but they yearn for dictatorship. They call themselves revolutionaries, but they want to make the government omnipotent. They promise the blessings of the Garden of Eden, but they plan to transform the world into a gigantic post office. Every man but one a subordinate clerk in a bureau. What an alluring utopia! What a noble cause to fight!"

And people wonder why I am home schooling my kids?!

Actually, when I explain my reasons for doing so to anyone, no-one DOES wonder why we're homeschooling - they totally get it!

I know I'm in AU, not the USA, and our kids here are not meant to sit on buckets or anything (that's just awful - and I'm glad some people are taking a stand against it, as they rightly should!!). But the state education system (in NSW at least) 'strongly encourages' kids at primary school to wear masks, they are required to be worn at high school and now the govt has approved the provisionally-approved mRNA covid injections for kids aged 5-11. They say they're 'safe'. Ha. And most kids over 12 have been poisoned with them now.

What's the future going to look like in 2-3 years' time, hey? There will be no POINT to having schools! Although judging by that social ISOLATION going on in the above pic, there's no point to school NOW.

Public schools in Alabama are doing just fine. They monitor COVID cases and reduce the limitations when cases are low (they have been >1% for weeks now). No masks, eating and talking with friends (how ridiculous!). And we can joke about the quality of public schools in Alabama, I guess, but my kids scored in the top 97-99 percentiles nationwide in all the standardized tests and the oldest had excellent ACT scores. You get out of school what you put into it as individuals, for the most part. I think the solution for conservative or non-psychotic parents is to move.

Where does the wage-slave typical single mother turn? School may be only a babysitting service now, and barely available at that, but it remains essential for working-class and lower middle class parents. How do such people scrape together the resources to move to a saner state? All the people I see online declaring they've "had it and are moving to Florida" are those I'd consider rich, no matter how they see themselves. Home schooling/lpod learning are unfortunately not possible for every family. It would be a blessing to be able to afford it. It doesn't have to be every family removing their kids from offending systems to make a difference. It just has to be enough of them to affect the system's bottom line. In the meantime, go to school board meetings and speak out. Organize! Find something that you can do to make a difference. I won't be easy, but remember why you are doing it when you are discouraged and tired from the fight.

I have had a theory for many years that we Americans have forgotten what we work for. Many of us are working for a lifestyle rather than a life. I grew up in the 1950s and life seemed a lot more simple. Smaller house, one bathroom, one car, one black and white TV and one telephone... Many folks did not have all of those. We had good schools though. As I grew up I became aware that life wasn't perfect and a lot of changes were needed in our society. But, I will always cherish those few years of innocence that are being denied to our children today. They are skipping childhood and going straight to being political prisoners.

True, Bootsorourke. But, it was a good era to be an average kid. I kept reminding my teen daughter in the 1980s, "Don't be in such a hurry to grow up. You are only a kid once. You will be an adult for the rest of your life."

When we are teens we think that being all grown up will make us free from all the 'unfair' rules our parents make for us. In fact, precisely the opposite occurs. We become even more bound by rules and add a load of obligations and responsibilities--like raising our own children well, keeping a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs and food in their bellies. Even if we never have children we must do those things for ourselves. Happiness becomes different and our freedoms take more consideration. When we cede our care to government, we cease to be free. We become serfs. I suspect there is not a great deal of happiness in that.

I know that not everyone was as fortunate as I was to have a good, not perfect, childhood. Some have never experienced that particular innocence. For those people I am genuinely sad. Perhaps if more Americans who had at least a few of those moments of freedom took the time to remember what it is like to be free there wouldn't be so many willing to giving it up so easily now.

Some cite the imperfections of the past as reason to trash the present. I have lived through big and needed changes in my almost eight decades. None of those changes was brought about by punishment or oppression. Many Americans spilled their blood to make this country and others throw off their oppressors. There will always be things that need to be fixed in all cultures. The goal should be to make life not necessarily equitable, but better for everyone. Fairness doesn't exist. What is considered 'fair' is constantly changing so that is not an accurate measure of what is good. Perfection does not exist. I don't believe that it ever will. We are all human. Even children.

There's a reason why some people stay in horrible marriages. Sometimes there is absolutely nowhere else to go. The average person is financially living right on the edge all the time. Home schooling or parent pods etc. etc. etc. etc. are a luxury of the middle-class and/or stable relationships where one spouse can stay home. The easy prescriptions many commenters here are offering are a cruel mirage for the average person.

Expand full comment

Yes, I see that here, too, in Australia. Many people DO stay in bad marriages because it's too hard to be on one's own financially. Everything costs SO much you NEED two incomes to cope! But if you downsize and move to a small/country town where you can work from home, or have some sort of job (any job!) lined up, then you'll probably be OK on your own. But people like to stay in cities, where there are so many conveniences. Although I'm not sure how being cooped up with your kids in a tiny apartment with a tiny balcony and not being allowed out to parks is a convenience...

I understand your views here, SCA, and I know it's not always easy to make change in your life, but if someone is serious about making (positive) change, then they WILL. It all depends on how great the impetus is.

You don't get anywhere in this world without hard work, but you also have to make smart decisions. EQ is more important than IQ, so you don't have to be anywhere near the top of your class to make sensible decisions. But you DO need to believe in yourself, and you DO need to stick to your guns, so you can reach your goals: however small or great they may be, or however much they may challenge the status quo. If it's THAT important to you, then you will find a way - or die trying.

Maybe I'm just a pretty intense person, but if I hadn't made certain decisions along the way, I would just turn into my Mum or Dad, and I never wanted to do that. Even when I was young I'd say "I love you Mum/Dad, but I don't want to be anything like you". So maybe I knew things were wrong from my outset, who knows!!

Anyway, I'm not trying to pooh-pooh your ideas or anything, and I DO know how hard it is to make things work in this world sometimes, but for my part, I've made conscious decisions NOT to be like my parents. I've stood up for what I believe in, and I've lost friends/family/lovers, and even jobs & residences, for doing that! But I have gained a wonderful husband, some very good friends, a good career, some brilliant children and a myriad of ideas and experiences. It's been hard, but it's been worth it to me. Putting in the hard yards is something I can say I have DEFINITELY done. It's that old adage: if you want something done properly, do it yourself.

For the record, I grew up poor. And now we're very middle class; we only have an 'average' amount of money/house worth. So we are definitely stuck in the middle financially, but we're managing. We both work P/T and we home school our kids. We've not lived beyond our means and we've been sensible financially for MANY years. It's doable, is all I'm saying. You just have to find the right goal/s and stick to it.

Expand full comment

I took risks all my life, and many of my decisions that were utterly lunatic by "normal" measures brought me, eventually, the greatest treasure of my life. But that came at very high cost--worth it to the infinite measure, but the cost was real.

Regardless of anyone's intentions, goals and hard work, success in life is more accident than plan. A good life partner, as you have, is a tremendous part of anyone's fortune but many, many people are betrayed and thwarted regardless of their own prudence and common sense. They may have taken those brave risks and paid bitterly for them.

I am a primary care doc. did not get vax. my kids also not vax. my younger son 8 says he is the only kid in his class not vax and kids were making fun of him. He said something like "my dad doesnt think it is the right thing to do." So then kids making fun of him saying "your stupid dad isnt a doctor or anything." He is like "actually he is a doctor." so it turns out one of the kids in the class told his dad that my son was saying this and that guy is some bigshot doc who looked me up and now reported me for spreading anti-vax information. just got out of a meeting w/my supervisor about it. what a world....

What an upside down country we live in these days. Sorry to hear this. My kids are also surrounded by mostly jabbed children at school who apparently talk about it a lot. My kids have adopted a policy of staying quiet. It’s all so creepy! Stay strong and fight the good fight.

Expand full comment

My kids aren't very good at staying quiet, so home schooling is a safer option right now! :-D

But how horrible it must be for your kids to not be able to express themselves freely at school. But I feel the same way at work, where I must wear my proper professional hat, and even though I say plenty that is anti-establishment, it's not even 10% of what I'd LIKE to say!! If I said what I really wanted to say, I'm not sure I'd have many patients left, let alone my registration!

Expand full comment

I would suggest you think about home schooling your kids, then. Kids say a LOT of stuff, and people are getting pretty nasty these days. So to prevent any more of these unintentional complications, home schooling might be a better option...

Your kid sounds great, standing up for both you and him, but when faced with a roomful of stupid people, sometimes running away to fight another day is a a good option!

I'm a primary care doc, too (Chiropractor), and I think the only reason no-one's complained to higher authorities about me is because 1. I'm really good at my job and if people complained then they wouldn't get care, 2. I work in a small country town where people mostly aren't educated enough to know where/who to complain to anyway and 3. I get in and complain to organisations first (about all sorts of things!) so if these organisations then went after me I could fairly claim they're singling me out because of MY concerns!

It's a nasty old world right now :-(

I blame the parents as well as the school They are idiots for buying into all of this.

Well. I'm one of those "forty degrees is comfortable if you're dressed warm enough, and I'm just glad the kids are getting outside" kind of people. I don't even mind requiring eating in silence, or sitting on the floor to eat-- in some cultures, these are considered normal and healthy ways to eat.

But I am absolutely outraged by the complete and utter horsesh$t reasons they are doing this, and the fact that they are vomiting these reasons all over these kids. It's still probably not as damaging as double vaxxing them though, Michelle Goldberg.

Oregon is also trying to make their mask mandate permanent. Absolute sociopathic clown world, and if you're a parent there and allow this to happen to your child - expect to be forcibly euthanized by the same child when they reach adulthood. That's where this insanity is heading.

Something tells me Michelle's children will not get the opportunity to grow into healthy adults.

Marxists are very well trained. One history book stated Poland was fillpped communist with only 3500 Marxists. Amazing really.

Doesn't surprise me. OR has turned into a Marxist utopia. I am still hopeful we can take it back but it pains me living here and watching it slide into the toilet.

I live in OR and am not hopeful, but agree with you. Who in OR do you know that voted for Kate? Sure, there are some. Those small groups that teach CRT. But I disagree that she can win any fair contest. She is mental.

So, that takes me to our lack of voting booths.

The regimes last command was to not believe your eyes and ears.

I live in the Willamette valley and I know plenty of people who voted for Kate. That being said, I would like to see a voting process with more transparency too.

I live in Portland and run a small business, so that is probably is where I have a different view. I know one small business owner out of 300 of my customers that voted for Kate.

I know several that have sold everything and left the state.

I will be joining them in 2024, if the world still exists of course.

I don't want more transparency, not sure what you meant by that, I want voting system that is bullet proof as possible. You have ID to rent an apartment, live in society. Use that to come to a polling station, show your ID, Dip your thumb in INK, Sign an Affidavit that you are who you are, etc and if you lie you must go to prison, then you can vote.

Third world countries can have fair elections, we can to.

There is no flipping way I would let my children be treated this way. I wouldn't care if I had to go to the food bank or whatever it took to make ends meet. My children would NOT be subjected to any of the crap that's gone on over the last 2 years and I'd be willing to go to prison or die rather than destroy my kids the way some parents are doing today. I get so angry about this that all I want to do is shout out a bunch of expletives. THERE'S ALWAYS ANOTHER WAY. No more excuses. This is disgusting.

Absolutely child abuse. My kids would have been out of public schools so fast they’d have had whiplash. We homeschooleded for 13 years before it was “in” for much less reason than this (our kids were in a private Christian school without big issues). I can’t even imagine what that generation of kids is going to be like - on top of all the “equity based education”

It takes courage to stand up to the CDC and our govt "authorities." Very few people have this courage. Most people are just hoping these COVID rules will go away on their own. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Only when we stand up, resist, and pull our kids out of these schools will it end. Someday, these parents will have great remorse that they failed to protect their children from this abuse.
