I used to live in the high desert, and sympathize. However, I am now on a bucket-list tropical island and it's the frog-drowning rainy season when you have to be careful not take too deep a breath as you might drown. The grass is probably greener on the other side of the fence, but you can't find the fence because the jungle is too thick! I think the trick here is to "love the one you're with"!!!
You're right, of course! I used to live in Central CA, which is either hot and flat in the summer, or foggy in the winter. I always wanted to live someplace where it snows. Yep. January 2023, nasty-ass snowstorm here, it covered several inches of the bottom of my gate, which then partially melted and froze. I couldn't get the gate open for about a week... I'm old and not strong enough. (A good neighbor took pity on me and hacked the ice away, so I could get my car out and go grocery shopping.) But overall, I do love it here.

Well, sure, if you can't be with the one you love
