As we were looking into it, many homes in our neighborhood where torn down and multi story apartment buildings went up in their place. The people living on the sunny side of our home are elderly with an old, poorly maintained home. In all likelihood, their property will be sold and an apartment building go up, blocking the sun from our panels long before they paid for themselves. Since then, I learned that they put out less and less energy and will likely need to be replaced before they pay for themselves. Additionally, they do not put out enough energy to run a single air conditioner. A false promise.
