I'm old enough to have sobbed reading contemporaneous news articles about moms in their 80s caring for their (mostly) sons in their 50s dying of AIDS. Not to speak of historical accounts of families dying together of the Black Death, rendering the tenderest of care until they were too incapacitated.

This generation is fucked.

Expand full comment

This country is fucked and all of us in it are too. We just didn’t realize it until recently. Hopefully, it’s not too late?? Time will tell if we can turn this around but I have my doubts.

Expand full comment

yep, hoping some really strong ones will get us together and lead us out of this,...

Expand full comment

In the nicest kindest way, I can tell you, it is up to each of us to get our lives back. Stop taking the experimental biologicals, stop wearing masks, get your kids out of schools that mandate masks all day long. Find like minded people.

Expand full comment

I am 100% with you! Wherever any of us are, we need someone, some leader(s), who can get us coordinated and focused on the strategy, instead of the narrative of the pushback so far (no more masks, no shots, no mandates). We sound just like them at this point.

Expand full comment

Waiting for someone else to lead is a losing proposition. Be the leader you are waiting for and be the example of grass roots leadership that is needed everywhere at every level of life.

Expand full comment

Just get together, and the leaders will rise spontaneously; the larger the headcount, the better the chance.

i think the narrative put the people who didn't know any better over the fence. they always trusted in the gov/health authorities before, so why would they have cause to mistrust them now? We see it and defy it, but they are totally hypnotized. they were not always stupid (in their defense).

Expand full comment

I gave up trusting our health authorities in Canada years ago. I attended a seminar of 2 ex scientists who previously worked for Health Canada. It was quite a few years ago and after their two different presentations concerning 2 different issues that was it for me. I stopped trusting governments in the late 1970's after living in Quebec and being subjected to draconian language laws.

The current level of fear and lack of critical thinking in the majority of Canadians is at an all-time high (or should that be an all-time low?). I truly feel like I am living in the same timezone as Winston Smith. To hear our PM say that those who do not want to be injected with an experimental drug the long term effects of which are a complete unknown, are "racist, misogynistic, science deniers" and "should we tolerate those people" is astounding, especially in the face of the total failure of the injections. And don't even try to tell me that "they prevent serious illness and death". How do you know that? How do you know how sick you would have been without the shot? How do you know they are safe? Did you look at VAERS?

Expand full comment

I agree the fear is absolutely crazy.

I only recognize it when I go to the store because I’ve stopped watched MSM. I’m not afraid so I just go about my way like I always do and I don’t give a fuck what anyone says or does.

I’m experiencing a, for me, novel problem. I’m finding that English—the richest, most descriptive language in human history—lacks words of adequate force to describe the revulsion, the consternation, the outrage that incidents like this cause. Second time today.

But damn. That poor kid.

As it has assimilated words from many languages and cultures and so has numerical advantage over most if not all, has essentially become the common language of global commerce and diplomacy, and is without any question the most influential of languages, English doesn’t need my defense.

I read someone’s suggestion—in Kirsch’s substack I think it was?—that someone could produce pads of leaflets with, for instance, graphs that depict the realities and brief explanations of them. Something to counter the official narrative and offer alternatives for information. Our data analyst and virologist and epidemiologist friends who have the credibility and wherewithal could get together and produce them. We could all past them at gas pumps, on bulletin boards, anywhere they might be seen.

An army of leafleteers with a mind to save the children and the world.
