Good luck with that. Hopefully Colorado goes red and maybe he’ll want out. Hahaha
The divide politics (or whatever you want to call the last 4 years) has created is so wild and tragic. I know too many people who are like your ex friend. My mom lost her best friend of 35 years due to this madness. These two went through raising 5 children, the death of a child (my brother), the death of her husband, my parent’s divorce, and just life. My mom wasn’t even being pushy. She just said she didn’t want to hear about Biden, masks, vaccines, etc. The friend couldn’t take it. She also had nothing else to talk about.
I am truly astounded how people who have known you for so long can turn on you. It frightens me for what is to come tbh.
Most people won’t apologize for anything - let alone for being so wrong about something as important as everything covid related. Some are just stubborn others can’t mentally handle the truth. Remember the Serenity Prayer. I recite it a lot. Also this from Matthew 10:14 :
“And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.”
It really does. And yes, California can do that to people. It’s really a conundrum to me. Prior to 2016, at least where I lived, people were the exact opposite of what they became. Little by little, TDS combined with the new childhood vaccination laws, changed people. And then Covid hit.
I almost lost one of my best girlfriends. We both homeschool. She came into my house one day when I was teaching about the founding of the US and the three branches of govt, etc. Her comment “whoa. Indoctrinating them early!”
Huh? Teaching my kids how this country runs is indoctrination?
We weren’t that close during Covid for a few reasons and then I moved to Iowa. She text to tell me I was right about everything. We’re friends again. Haha
I hope your friend comes around like mine did. But if not, I hope dealing with him isn’t a huge pain the butt!!

It makes you want to lose faith in humanity.
Definitely can be depressing. This guy lived with me for 10 years. I was his best man in his wedding.....and now I don't even recognize him.
California has poisoned him. I don't think there's any coming back.

Reminds me of a Dennis Prager quote, one that he said with great sadness: "Humanity sucks, but there are a few good people."
Condolences- but it seems as if that best friend for all those years doesn’t really exist anymore.
