Coding deaths has been established theough ICD -there is no "well maybe we should call it covid if someone tested positive". Underlying cause is the issue that started the chain of events that led to a person dying. Contributing causes are determined by someone with sufficient medical knowledge to say that this or that were contributing causes. Some idiot doc on TV in Canada said "we report them as covid because of the person survived they would have surcumed to covid. NO That is not how deaths are coded. A person in the final stages of terminal cancer with a host of comotbidities tests positive on the day the person died. Covid plays no part in that death.

Once you move away from the accepted practices of death coding you have no comparable statistics over time and your decisions get influenced by the public relations departments of big pharma and many other useless overhead agencies. And you basically end up with what is in the cat's litter box for data.

And doubly so when lockdown mandates force them to cease treating other patients so they have no other source of revenue.
