In addition to the bias concerns we should have regarding the training sets - see previous comments -- I am concerned that our favorite cat is being dangerously reductionary regarding human *health.* A machine will only favor the mechanistic model of the human body, the computer model of the human brain. Sigh. Who was it that strapped bottles of milk onto wire mesh "momma monkeys" to show that meeting only basic calorie needs was not enough for baby monkey flourishing? Sure- rapid processing of mountains of data is best done by a computer; but we know from so! many! observations! over time that emotional connection is necessary for true healing to take place and for health be maintained. AI seems best poised only to accelerate the transformation of culture towards one which prefers the trans-human over the messy, mysterious and fully organic one. Is our cat also suggesting we listen only to AI music, read AI commentary and hang AI art? I'm no Luddite, but AI - as a manipulator of all gathered human output, controlled for now by an elite of dubious motivations and morals, seems like the last god we should invoke on our quest for human flourishing.
