Fun non-sarcastic fact: grandparents were and are ESSENTIAL to the survival of early humans and the general perpetuation of the human race (as sane people define humans).

Do a quick search for "evolutionary value grandparents" if you're interested.

Elders have always had and will always have tremendous value to civilization.

Oh I know, believe me.

It is difficult to describe how beneficial my grandparents were to me, and how beneficial they have been to my own children.

I truly believe that inter-generational isolation is among the primary reasons for the long-term degradation of our society.

My family is, and will continue to, buck this trend.

Not to mention the fact they worked their a$$es off when they were young, paying taxes, building the country, having kids, and defending the nation. We owe them a debt of respect and gratitude for their service.

Paying taxes is not virtuous, it is the mark of enslavement.
