It's important not to forget that Florida *did* close up a lot of things. They weren't some magical land of freedom the whole time -- they just relinquished on it all sooner. The unfortunate reality is that we're stuck choosing the least objectionable option that has a chance of winning, not the individual who'd actually do the job and defend our liberties in the process.
