Yes, it is problematic that these two presidents were in this category. The larger problem is no real choice between these two parties. They appear so far to serve different aspects of the same masters.
There’s certainly no denying that. My longshot hope is that the GOP goes the way of the Whigs in the 1850’s and gives way to a more populist oriented party. But I’m not putting any money on it.
Populist sounds good at this point and that does seem where they are headed if by default. Perhaps America will stagger blinded & desperate into Democracy? Whoever is listening precisely to we the people at this point will prevail.
