For some escapism without any flaws, read Blue Train by Agatha Christie.
Coolidge by Amity Shlaes was excellent.
There are many good recent political books, but titles don't jump out at me. I'll work on it.
Go back and re-read Galt's speech in Atlas Shrugged. It is timeless, imo.
I'm struggling to finish Modern Philosophy by Roger Scruton, and I'm looking forward to cracking open a little book I happened to find at a charity, On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder.
It took me a long time to re-read Anna Karenina recently. I can't read fast, like when I was young, but funny: my memory of what I read is improving!
