What about the Tdap vaccine for my 10 year old? I was looking online and couldn't find too much info about how this one is dangerous.

Have you checked out Candace Owens series called A Shot in the Dark? It was really eye opening, and she does go into tetanus and Tdap, as far as I remember. The interesting thing is that all she does is read directly from the gov's own documents.... makes me feel like a complete idiot for giving my kids most of their vacs. According to their own docs the risk/benefit analysis for most of them make no sense.

I also highly recommend several articles here on Substack written by “A midwestern doctor from the forgotten side of medicine”. He did a series on the dangers of all vaccines earlier this month and I think I remember one post in particular singled out the Tdap as very dangerous. I haven't finished it yet, but the substack link is quite an interesting read. A set of vaccines are discussed after some lengthy introduction, and I skipped down to the last one, PZP and read from there to the end. Wow! Fascinating stuff, some of which may be alarming. +1 on that link!

Along the way, the author tossed in an almost throwaway quip about "boar taint" which perked my attention. Since 2019, I'm about 0-for-4 on getting tasty city hams to roast from the grocery store. I used to eat ham lots, and love it. But these experiences put me off even trying. How can you tell if boar taint will be a problem with the ham you purchased till you cook it and know for sure? I guess the ancient practice to prevent it was to castrate male pigs early. Now Pfizer has Improvac, a vaccine you can give to your pigs instead of castration, which works to setup an autoimmune reaction that effectively castrates the pigs.

So…maybe I'm unlucky. I appear to be getting hams which are always from male pigs, and they've either been untreated to prevent boar taint, or mis-treated with a non-castration product that didn't work.

And, if you want a sense of what a boar taint ham cook up like, imagine a nice ham fresh and hot from the oven on Easter, say. It filled the room, and made everyone hungry for hours as it roasted away in there. By contraast "boar taint" ham will fill the room with the scent literally of a pigsty. That nasty scent you can often get impressions of if you visit the piggies at any petting zoo or 4-H exhibit at your county fair. The ham comes out of the roaster just reeking intensely of this smell, not fresh tasty ham. If you try to eat the ham, you find it tastes a tiny bit better than it smelled, but offensive odors well flavor the meat and damp down any residual fresh flavors that once were present. The last time this happened to me, I just had to toss the whole thing.

I make an insanely flavorful black-bean stew with cardamom, and the bones with scraps you couldn't carve off your main ham service are the star attraction. I found I couldn't use the boar taint ham even for this. It just destroyed all the good flavors in the dish.

The fat of tainted hams, especially, is totally gross. And, on good hams, I love the fat. I mean, who doesn't like bacon? Who doesn't like chicharones as a fully-keto alternative to chips?

If anyone has tips on avoiding boar taint ham at the grocer, I'm soliciting.

I actually got a shot of that in 2020. Had some strange hives and numbness on the rightside of my body afterwards, along with joint pain for a few months.

Same with me; Tdap in early 2020 as well. No problems.

That being said, I don't know if I trust any vaccine now.

The hives and numbness passed first, the joint pain lasted for a few months. I had a really bad flu beginning of 2020 and thought it was covid until i caught covid. The numbness was strange, first it would feel like someone was pricking you pins and then nothing.

I developed what a Dr called “costochondritis” after a tetanus booster in 2010 or so. Dr claimed it was nothing to do with the shot, total coincidence that pain started a few days after the shot. Thanks for the reply. I am on the fence. Didn't get the covid vax. But I am concerned about my kids getting tetanus. From what I can tell, Tdap is a traditional vax and there are not serious ethical issues around the Tdap. I'd like to learn if there are specific health risks, but I haven't found good info on that.

Expand full comment

So you want a tetanus vax. What I hadn't realized is this: what we get for tetanus protection is a 4-prong disease special. Why does a 10 year old need pertussis or diphtheria protection? See if there are specific treatments for tetanus now. I had been in habit of getting tetanus booster every 10 years; don't think I will again. When I get a cut, blood flows. Isn't tetanus supposed to be a problem only in an anaerobic environment?

Expand full comment

I agree. I just want a simple, old-fashioned tetanus booster. But that isn't offered any more. You have to get the combined vax. That's why I'm not sure about it.

Expand full comment

There is a tetanus anti-tox which fights the microbes should the rare event happen

Expand full comment

Yes, I just read about that treatment online. I didn't know much about tetanus. It turns out it is the toxins from the bacteria that cause the tetanus disease, and the anti-tox shot apparently neutralizes those toxins, and treatment also includes antibiotics to kill the bacteria.

Expand full comment

Thanks Boots--having posted my thoughts I went off to investigate the same. Had recently heard the no-doubt-overly-simple "a disease can be treated, a vaccine not"--which set me to thinking. Man, I feel as if that's all I do these days! Thinking! And as a Latin teacher, I was not unfamiliar with thought.

Expand full comment

It is not clear to me the Tdap in itself is especially dangerous. Of course, all vaxxes have a risk profile. The question is risk-benefit. And I've heard tetanus is bad to get. So I am interested in protection against it. When I was growing up, I just got a simple tetanus booster every 10 years. Which makes me ask, why do they now combine it with diphtheria and whooping cough? Apparently the whooping cough vax is non-sterilizing and that means it doesn't prevent spread, it only suppresses symptoms, which may actually explain the increases in whooping cough in recent years. In addition to these practical risk issues, I am also concerned about the ethics of using aborted materials in vaxxes. That is why we decided against the MMR vax for our kids.

Expand full comment

I did not allow my daughter to take the covid jab, but prior to that she did have all of her usual childhood shots. If I could do it again, I would refuse all childhood vaccines. Every one. And if that kept her from going to school I would home school her.

Please tell me more about why you wouldn't get any vaxxes for your kids, I would like to hear your perspective. I did not get covid vax, and neither did my kids. We already home school them. I don't consider myself 100% anti-vax, if the vax is a traditional and effective protection and doesn't involve unethical methods like abortion. But I am open to new info and sympathetic to the idea that all vaxxes may be bad.

Off the top of my head here are ten reasons, in no particular order:

1. After witnessing the covid debacle, I have lost all confidence in the public health "experts". I'll ignore their recommendations and do my own research.

2. To the extent I have done the research, the benefits of childhood vaccinations do not appear to out-weigh their risks. I'm open to changing my mind if new facts emerge.

3. Some vaccines may be beneficial, but most are not. Maybe that is throwing the baby out with the bathwater - so to speak - but I'll take my chances with no vaccines.

4. Last time I checked, kids are born with a functioning immune system. I'll leave it alone and let it do its job.

5. Sensible nutrition, moderate exercise, fresh air, and sunlight are probably far more beneficial to a child's health than any of the potions coming out of the pharmaceutical industry.

6. Getting a childhood disease is not the end of the world. Kids get sick. Kids recover. It is folly to think that the medical system is going to protect children from all illness. These illnesses may even be beneficial for overall childhood development.

7. Plenty of religious communities get along just fine without vaccines.

8. My grandparents didn't get 54 different shots, and they all lived to a ripe old age.

9. During the covid scamdemic, our family ignored every single "expert" recommendation. No masks, no isolating, no jab, no nothing. I continued to travel internationally. None of us got sick. The experts were obviously mistaken or lying. What else are they lying or wrong about?

10. Years ago some vaccines might have been beneficial, but now it appears the entire industry has turned-into a crass, money-spinning racket. I'll opt-out of all of them and take my chances.

Thank you for your comment. After doing the research you recommended (I watched Owens and found other info online), I am also now an ex-vaxxer. We decided that our children will not get any more of the pediatric "schedule" vaxxes. Up until now, we did get all the regular vaxxes. But no more. What I have learned shows that the entire medical-industrial system cannot be trusted. I know there is corruption between companies, regulators and doctors, and that alone is a reason not to trust them. But two things really made me decide against the pediatric vaxxes: (1) Many have not been tested for long term effects on fertility and cancer. It says so right in the manufacturers' product inserts. How can I give my little girl a drug that has not been tested for effects on fertility and cancer? And these have been on the market for DECADES! Over all those years, they've neglected to do such basic tests? (2) I could find no data on interaction effects between vaxxes and other drugs, and no data on possible cumulative effects over time of taking vaxxes. What this meant to me was, even if you could prove that one dose of one vax (e.g. the Tdap) is safe, there is still the question of how it interacts with all the other vaxxes and drugs given to kids, and if 5 doses are scheduled from birth until early teens, what is the cumulative effect of all those shots? The missing data on these two questions means that I cannot give informed consent, because I am not informed about those issues, which I believe are legitimate concerns. Therefore, my kids will no longer get vaxxes, as long as the system continues to function like this.

At this point I have read “The Real Anthony Fauci”, “Inventing the AIDS Virus”, “Dissolving Illusions”, and “Plague of Corruption “. While the authors of these books would differ on some of the details of the science, I feel sure that they would be in agreement on the general view that vaccines are wildly oversold and under tested, both as to safety and effectiveness.

In layman’s language, the vaccine industry is almost entirely a grift. This has been a revelation to me since I have never questioned vaccines. Covid changed that.

My default position vis a vis vaccines now is “No”. I will listen to your argument but appeals to authority mean nothing. If you can show me some data (which, sadly, I am now quite suspicious of), then Maybe. Only Maybe.

Many years ago, in another former life, I was an early entrepreneur in the clinical side of HIV/AIDS because few wanted to be involved.

In that time I sat on numerous community-based AIDS-related boards when the diagnosis was a death sentence. This gave me an opportunity to interface directly with Fauci twice. He was much younger, but really has not changed.

At that time, he was pimping AZT, his brainchild, and my company was assisting in clinical trials.

He was a liar back then. AZT was deadly and killer tens of thousands directly (granted, life expectancy was an issue had these guys not taken AZT, but still...)

Tony Fauci single-handedly added a LOT more power and corruption to Big Pharma, and we are reaping the crop he sowed back then.

There are few humans I despise more than Tony Fauci. He is high on my "I Wanna Punch in the Face" list, along with Sean Penn, Michael Moore, John Podesta, Rosie O'Donnell, and Algore.

The PH movement has shot itself in both feet. The knock-on effects could be enormous.

Maybe you shouldn't be so distrusting. But...how would you know? Ooh, what dangerous fog this is. We cannot navigate clearly to choices that are obviously in our best interest. And whose fault is that? The stewards of the PH institutions have done an awful job. - Pharmaceutical companies don't have to pay of leaders (800 million offered to the president of Belarus) to get their citizenry vaxed

- Pharmaceutical companies don't need dozens of lobbyists in Washington, D.C.

- Social media doesn't have to ban discussion about alternatives

- Pharmaceutical companies test the vax on more than 8 rats before telling the entire world it is safe to take boosters

- Pharmaceutical companies don't have to try to hide the trial results

Original antigenic sin / herd level antigenic fixation not a bug but a feature. Why would ANYONE trust pHarma and take another injection? The rise of deaths, disabilities, cancers, injuries and vaccidents already out there for anyone to see, even if they are not watching lamestream media.

To quote the great philosopher, Mr. T: "I pity the fool."

Not very many are trusting pharma with this one, thankfully!

Ha Ha! Mr T needs to run service ads on TV for "our side" of the argument!!

I also have a question: "WHY IN THE WORLD are the original vaccinations for an EXTINCT VARIANT a prerequisite to be injected with the new Omicron-specific cell instruction?" Are they treating our immune systems like a VIZIO smart TV where new firmware updates are predicated on a previous version being already in place?

Does this make any sense whatsoever? It does if the new formula isn't an mRNA instruction to grow the Omicron spike but maybe a "hopeful fix" for the immune-system damage caused by the first one. I question how quick the FDA advisory panel overwhelmingly approved the new fall shot and agreed to not having clinical data.

Oh.... and STILL only Pfizer and Moderna. Hmmm.

At the risk of sounding tinfoil-hatty, maybe it's a way of getting rid of those leftover original doses before they expire completely. Although I don't think that would profit the Pharma companies, because didn't the government already buy up all those doses?

'Are they treating our immune systems like a VIZIO smart TV where new firmware updates are predicated on a previous version being already in place?' Great remark!

In the US, I believe the precedent for the minimal amount of testing is the annual flu vaccine update, which doesn't require clinical testing for approval either. Apparently they assume that any "updated" vaccine will have the same safety profile as the presumably-thoroughly-tested original. Never mind that these Covid 'vaccines' are still operating under EUA. And the "emergency" has been extended yet again, despite the fact that even the US president said the pandemic was over. The pharmaceutical fig leaf is getting smaller and smaller.

Excellent questions, Ivan!

Wonderful write-up (as always). But I have a simpler question for my Injected / Boosted friends:

Since the original shots have been proven to be unsafe and ineffective, why do you assume these will be any different?

They went all in on trusting the government.

They're on tilt.

Silly, of course it's because they prevent serious illness and hospitalization.

I realize you are being tongue in cheek here - but I always like to throw this out on occasion, as I'm not sure I've seen anyone ever mention this.

In the first 36 weeks of the pandemic, 305.1k people died from Covid in the US. (I know there's the whole died with / from argument, but work with me here, as it still proves my point.) At week 37, Covid injections were introduced so I think it would be a REASONABLE assumption that fewer deaths would follow (particularly as most viruses weaken over time). Instead, 339.8k died from Covid in the next 36 weeks. In the following 36 weeks (when we then moved from "fully vaccinated" to Boosters), one would have expected they should have been EVEN MORE EFFECTIVE). Instead, 376K people died. So we went from 305k to 339.8k to 376k deaths.

Is this the "new math" that I wasn't taught in school?!

I see quite a few articles about increased all-cause mortality since the vaccines were introduced. However, I haven't looked into it in depth because I have rather gone off spending time in the statistics-hole.

I'm no biologist, but "herd antigenic fixation" sounds a whole lot like the complete lack of immunity to European diseases enjoyed by the indigenous Americans.

We could ask the Taino and other tribes how that turned out, but unfortunately they're all dead.

Whoa, an interesting perspective. My brother used to quip that we had super immunity, proven simply by the fact that our blood line is still here, after so many Native people succumbed to the new diseases. I used to laugh, but now I'm starting to think there may be a grain of truth in that. I never get sick unless my Vitamin D levels get low. I saw that pattern long ago when switching between outside work and office work. Now I take Vitamin D supplements and I haven't had a sniffle in 3 years. ~ Status Indian

is Omicron actually Covid? i mean, more and more people say it is a Coronavirus but unrelated from the original Covid. Considering the symptoms are exactly the same as a seasonal cold it looks like promoting vaccines doesn't make sense, at least for the vast majority of the population. Actually there is probably no more Covid around. am i completely off?

Given that flu apparently disappeared for two years, I would like an explanation of how covid prevents the flu, or an explanation of how exactly the covid test can be so sure that it isn't catching cases of the flu.

I did quite a bit of digging when this all started, and it seemed significant to me that Coronaviruses are one of the three major Cold viruses that circulate most years. Calling it "novel" and claiming to have a cure for the common cold/flu seemed like a stretch from the very beginning.

Sleight of hand

No, you are not completely off. Omicron is not a direct variant from the previous variant. Still scientists do not know where omicron came from. Here is my non-science/medical view:

I’m concerned about mandates for our college students . As for myself , I’m ready to quit my job if they push these again .

In my region of Ontario, Canada; Hospital staffing is being decimated by the mandatory jabs. Emergency Departments are regularly closed due to lack of able bodied staff, due to so many being off sick on a regular basis. Of course, our "free" healthcare is always understaffed due to bureaucracy, but having your Emergency Departments actually close their doors is a new low.

Me too. I'm hoping they're starting to learn that mandates create too much pushback, although the supposedly intelligent centers of higher education seem to be having trouble grasping this fact.

COVID immunity has reached the simulacrum stage. At least the original jabs were trying to measure proxy metrics and some form of outcome. But these, are they even measuring a proxy, as opposed to a proxy of a proxy? Forget about outcomes.
