Years ago, my father-in-law's grandson gave him a small box to unwrap. After unwrapping it, he realized the contents were empty. Without missing a beat, he said thank you. Just what I wanted, a box of love! A Christmas moment I'll never forget. Feliz Navidad!
This is a beautiful representation of a gift from the one who knows you best 💗
Speaking of gifts, I would like to extend the bouquet of early-blooming parentheses I offered my readers to everyone here as I feel grateful to be part of this exceptionally warm, witty, and brilliant community:

I guess kitties know best. You will own nothing. And you will be happy. Klaus Schwab was right! ;-) (Leave it to me to throw something negative in the mix. lol) Merry Christmas!
I had a cat who liked to be carried around in a bag. Whenever we had visitors (whom I forgot to warn) who left an open bag of any sort sitting on the floor, she immediately jumped in and looked expectantly for a ride. Usually took some explaining.
We miss Lucy every day. ❤️❤️💔. Out of all the other houses on our street she picked our house. I turned the deck light on one night to check the raccoons weren’t trashing the bird feeders and there she was, all 7lbs of skinny cat with a bloody chin.
Turns out her jaw was broken and she had not eaten in weeks. 😓. Vet checked her out and cleaned her up but the high fat kitten food we gave her made her develop pancreatitis (probably cuz she had been starving for 3weeks?). Back to the vet. She barely survived and we made her low fat food from them on.
She had 11 good years, I try think of the good times. ❤️🙂🥲
I want to save every animal on the planet, but remember a story about the little boy throwing stranded sea turtles back into the sea. A man comes by who says "You can't save all of them." The boy throws another one and says "Saved that one, didn't I?" We do what we can.
Your Lucy had eleven years she would never have had without your loving kindness and skill at tending a lost and hurt kitten. Bless you for that and for providing your dear fur friend with a loving home. May you remember the good times and may Lucy live on in your heart. From one cat adoptee to another.
Amazon is a devil, you do realize? I love cats, currently have acquired 3, all strays....and spreading poison to my home, risking my fur kids' health is a good analogy of Bezos' overall effect on the planet.
There are almost no small businesses left. They have been starved out. Few incomes independent of the Corporate Gods we have allowed to spring up in our midst.
I love Earth, and all her children, including the humans. But, we are entering a non-human, and anti-life world, right now. IMO
In fairness, Amazon does support people who want to be 3rd party vendors on the Amazon platform. They even offer startup money. Not the same, you say. But not nothing either.
All my previous cats liked both. My current cat prefers boxes. Well, he likes bags, too, but as prey -- he tries to eat them. So I keep them away from him.
My cat preferred the bows and ribbon and wrapping paper. He'd chew it all up and vomit. RIP, dear kitty. For the 1st time since I adopted you 21+ years ago, we have presents under the tree instead of hidden in a closet. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
If it fits, I sits, so says my Woodrow. He’ll sits even when he doesn’t fits. He also loves the clothes hamper. He takes a running leap and in he goes. Merry Christmas El Gato Malo. Your posts are purrrrfect.
Perfect! I had to cut a piece of nylon wire tie off of a gift this morning, and threw it to our little kitty, and she had a blast with it. Why spend 20 bucks on a toy, when a nylon wire tie will do nicely?
Merry Christmas, Gato Malo. Love the hard work you put in every day.
I might have the only anorexic dog. Doesn't eat everyday, almost never finishes his food, last night I gave him 4 bites of prime rib on a plate during our dinner and only ate 2 then walked away. So, nope, cat poop is not on his menu!
My daughter had a dog once who was like that. One time when I was visiting, I saw a spoon in her dish and figured someone had accidentally left it there. My daughter later explained that they left the spoon in the dish because that was the only way Scout would eat her food.
Dogs seem to find cat poop delectable. George Carlin once quipped that dogs wished they sold it in six-packs in the supermarket. The number of times I've found one or another dog wandering around looking blissed out, with sand on their noses . . .
The thing about wrappings and boxes and cardboard tubes is that you can do so much with them, it's just up to your imagination. Most toys, they're the product of someone else's imagination, and there's no work for you to do, the thinking has been done for you - and that's no fun.
I told Miss Poofy Floofers (our son's name for her) this morning as she was growling and carrying on that it's sad that el gato will never meet you because you would give him some great cat memes! She has never bitten anyone; she's all growl and no bite....and doesn't like bags or boxes.
El Gato Malo, I am going to Aguadilla in a few days, I would love to buy you a Cerveza, but I realize we need to continue OPSEC until we defeat the Covidiots. Hopefully someday I can buy you one...... Keep up the good work!
Dear bad cat, thank you so much for all you do and your immense hard work. In these dark days of global derangement your jokes and astonishing analyses keep me going, on the opposite side of the globe. The world of freedom and reason is lucky to have you; I hope you go into 2022 with people who love you and appreciate you as you deserve.
I don't know how to reach data but i think is possible to calculate Covid Deaths as a function (number of old people)*(number vaccinations)*(Max Temperatue-Min Temperature)/(numer of healed)/(Min Temperature); hope someone will show this correlation and put end at all...

Reason #777 I love cats
I guess kitties know best. You will own nothing. And you will be happy. Klaus Schwab was right! ;-) (Leave it to me to throw something negative in the mix. lol) Merry Christmas!
As long as my cats can still own me! BTW, I hate K Schwab.
Ah, but Kitty owns the bag.
I had a cat who liked to be carried around in a bag. Whenever we had visitors (whom I forgot to warn) who left an open bag of any sort sitting on the floor, she immediately jumped in and looked expectantly for a ride. Usually took some explaining.
There were times when my kids were toddlers that we got them gifts and they were more interested in the packaging and wrappings than the actual gift
I miss our sweet little calico bundle of fur, she just showed up at our back door many years ago all hurt and looking for a new home. ❤️
it’s almost been 1 yr since she left us. 🐱🥺😢😢
This made me cry. They tear your heart out, don't they?

I am sitting with my two cats, reading this. Been recovering from a minor surgery, missed their company the last two weeks.
I cry more when out cats die than I do for any human - so far, anyway. Our precious little bundles.
💔
🤣 Every cat I ever had…. Fancy cat toys, ignored totally. Bags and balls of tinfoil…👍
Every kid I ever had
Cats like boxes more
Our cat has been enjoying empty Amazon boxes this Christmas.
I have been warned that Amazon sprays their boxes in warehouse to deter rodents, so if your cat is a box chewers like mine? Maybe look into it.
My cat doesn’t chew on Amazon boxes. Maybe that’s why? Ordinarily she’ll shred any box she’s offered and any piece of paper she can get hold of.
Good kitty! I've one cat who chews any cardboard- but I'm also not claiming she has the greatest intelligence 🙄

...cats & cat lovers rule💕🐱💕
There is always an upside.
You may be bad, but you are not on the naughty list.
Merry Christmas Gato.
And your reminder that yes--it's the thought that matters...
I got my dogs a bag. They both shit in it.
When my dog decides it's too cold out he poops in the litterbox. Sir Stinky-pants...won't do the cat appropriate burial
Mr neighbours have a dog that uses a litter box always. Her name is Kitty.
*my
Shitty Kitty
Well, at least he doesn't eat the cats' poop, like my daughter's dogs. Or does he?
I might have the only anorexic dog. Doesn't eat everyday, almost never finishes his food, last night I gave him 4 bites of prime rib on a plate during our dinner and only ate 2 then walked away. So, nope, cat poop is not on his menu!

The simple things… ❤️

this is soooooo true💕

We had one like that. She was quite the hisser. Big orange cat. Made friends with my husband’s lap.
Her excuse is she was a bottle feeder kitten so wasn't properly socialized. It's not that she thinks she's a person; she thinks I'm a cat!
absolutely perfect
This is EVERYTHING!🥰
Our cat slept through our entire gift unwrapping process. Snoring. Not so much as a twitch.
El Gato Malo, I am going to Aguadilla in a few days, I would love to buy you a Cerveza, but I realize we need to continue OPSEC until we defeat the Covidiots. Hopefully someday I can buy you one...... Keep up the good work!
Had cats as a child; can confirm.
Goes for toddlers too.
Perfect! What cat doesn't love to get into a good bag....or box!
Should have gotten a box…
less is more
Meowy Christmas El Gato Malo and a pawtastic holiday season!!

It’s the thought that counts

awwww, so true! cats do it right--they have christmas at least once a week. ;>)
This is so true. A bag or a box and my kitty will find it and get inside. Every time.

Brilliant.
Spot on! My daughter wrapped an empty box for our cats-they loved it, along with the other boxes and bags and ribbon!

This is so cute. <3
Merry Christmas!! Thank you for brightening my year!
Too clever, whoever ❤️
My dogs got diarrhea for Christmas, yay me.
Hope you feel better soon, Rose!
