Yesterday I went to see my 87 year old father. He is a widower in assisted living. Even though we are both vaccinated, I had to wear a mask to enter the facility. I need to be able to spend time with him. This last year has been difficult for everyone, but especially on our elderly parents. It may be performative, but it is still necessary at this point.
