failing to learn from history

and letting the same charlatans force you to repeat it

it was june of 2020.

a kinder time.

a gentler time.

a time when even CNN knew that redfield and birx were the bonnie and clyde of grant grifting and making up data.

odd the things we forget as time goes by, isn’t it?

let’s take a trip down memory lane:

remind you of anything? (the kansas counties mask study this same guy cherry picked and sold as fact perhaps? or the “no control group” nonsense from mass general?)

it’s the same playbook: lie, grab the cash, slink out the door once the heat comes down, and keep the lucre…

then, as now, it was a “miracle vaxx” with dodgy data. the only difference was that even fauci was calling BS on it.

(if all these names sound so familiar, well, yeah, every one of these people have been haunting public health for 30+ years and failing ever upward.)

(fauci was, of course, busy pushing the deadly drug AZT on minority groups, hiding side effects, and warning of catching AIDS from causal contact and toilet seats, so let’s not mistake him for the white hat here. he just had different hobbyhorses and self-interests)

and then, scandal erupted (albeit quiet scandal behind closed doors)

and outside folks were brought in to have a look.

and it did not look good.

but here’s where it gets “extra juicy.” this was not a mistake. it was fraud. full, open, grant-grabbing fraud. the statisticians that had run the numbers told redfield the data showed nothing.

but that’s sure not what he presented…

and far from “falling on his sword” like some sort of nobility, he was allowed to skate and to call premeditated datacrime “an accident.”

and all seemed well, dirt swept under rug, etc:

nope. cylde (and presumably bonnie) were right back at it.

imagine taking the data you just had to admit was fraud and presenting it, unaltered, to the very guy who caught you and expecting to get away with it.

that’s who these people are.

and you know what?

they DID get away with it.

this should have been a career ender and possibly even a trip to prison. instead it was a free pass to bounce from a kangaroo court and a $20 million grant to pursue what was known to be fraud.

truly, the mind boggles.

and then everyone got cushy new gigs and kept showering money on one another.

you seriously cannot kill a full blooded government grift grantee. they are the cockroaches of the research world. you could drop a 40 megaton hydrogen bomb on them and they’d be up and about the next day applying for new funding like nothing happened and their pals would be there to give it to them.

this is how corrupt and dysfunctional federal agencies are.

those who commit outright fraud get promoted and showered in cash. their sinecures last forever, and they fail only up. they cling to the public purse like herpes, sometimes in remission but always ready to flare up again.

how trump picked this horrorshow (and brix with him) is beyond me and speaks poorly of his judgement and comprehension, but the fact that is was even possible stands as stark indictment of the entire system that has become some captured from within that it functions more like a mafia family than an organ of public health.

the triad of redfield, fauci, and brix had been around for 30-40 years making messes of everything they touched, playing gold giver and gold grubber by turns, and climbing the walls of power like some sort of unkillable institutional slime mold.

if you still have it somewhere in the back of your mind that these institutions can be fixed and made suitable for purpose, go read this again.

they cannot.

they are irretrievably broken and catastrophically corrupt. it’s all the same people and has been since the 80’s and make no mistake, the folks who have flourished under them and stand waiting in the wings are no better.

it’s all circling the bowl from here.

adding money from politicians to science just creates political science.

the federal piper winds up calling the tune for whole sectors of research and taints all it touches.

it does not create progress, it generates lysenkoist cronyism irrigated with rivers of dirty largess.

these agencies have always been and ever shall be the same.

they will not change and it’s time they went away.
