I noticed that cultivation at the time on social media and refused to feed my (now former) friends pantomime. Anxiety/depression being positioned as "cutesy" or trendy or a convenient excuse to dodge responsibility pisses me off. You are one smart cookie :-) And yes, the elevation of victimization paired with the denigration of responsibility as a core value has been gradually eroding people’s sense of independence, driving the attention-seekers toward self-imposed victimhood and ever-increasing dependency. All part of the strategy to subsume the individual into the collective.
