Has any government been overthrown via Bouncy Castles. Asking for a friend.

Yes, but you need to attack with bouncy cannon balls.

Just for fun of course.

Reminds me of a scene from Hot Fuzz:

"Everybody and their mum's got guns 'round here!"

"Oh yeah? Who?"

"Farmers."

"Who else?"

"Farmers' mums."

Expand full comment

Oh I know ya do. But it really ruins the joke. I do believe you have some greater restrictions on carrying handguns and being required to register though?

Expand full comment

Yes, true. You also have to have a 'permit to transport' to take your handgun anywhere. OK if you want to go to the range or the gunsmith, but most everything else prohibited. You certainly can't carry or transport to protect yourself. Which is why I am 100% sure none of the truckers are armed -- it would give the police the pretext to arrest them on a firearms violation.

That was exquisite. Could you write it in The Atlantic, Unherd, Harper's Magazine, Wall Street Journal, NY TImes too? To me it belongs to a very wide platform because it is really well done. But I don't think the publishers would care for it.

Bouncy castles. The horror! It reminds me of the Monty Python sketch of the Spanish Inquisition torturing someone. Cardinal! Poke him with the soft cushion.

Is it just me or is life around us, the antics of the offence, grudge & grievance industry mobs, behaviour of politicians and the various apocalyptic cults, getting more and more like Monty Python?

Monty P used to be whacky, absurdity, but now it’s ‘reality’ - many News reports could be mistaken for a Monty Python sketch. And now for something completely different.

Expand full comment

The brilliance of Python was in its commentary on the absurd. What would you expect from a group of Oxbridge grads (Terry Gilliam excepted) who were capable of laughing at themselves and thumbing their nose at the hierarchy of which they were groomed to be part (John Cleese, a barrister, Graham Chapman, a doctor). The Python sketches that most encapsulate our present absurdity, at least to me, are Mr. Neutron, followed the Upper Class Twit of the Year competition.

Worse than 9/11, I tells you, almost on par with 1/6!

If only the truckers had been sensible. You know, burned down a Starbucks, looted a Target. Fiery, but mostly peaceful. An acceptable form of protest. But no, they had to call out the people causing their problems, not random strangers who have nothing to do with it, like you're supposed to.

Destroy private property, ruin people's livelihoods and lives, who cares? Hell, take over a chunk of a city or occupy a police precinct and it's barely a blip on the radar.

Question The Cathedral?

You.

Will.

Pay.

I'm just hoping that pushing people into a submit-or-revolt corner doesn't work out nearly as well for him as Justin clearly believes it will.

Pssst, Canadians? You might want to do a search for 'FGC-9'.

Just sayin'.

I saw more than one kid throwing himself into hay bales they piled up to. Also handed a glow stick to a 5 year old last night at the dance party on the hill! Good for his parents for bringing him out, it was tense last night with the police action. They showed up to the main camp with force and AR15’s!! But left when nobody got violent.

Time to go home today 😕

Maybe the convoy will withstand the assault.

I pray they will. But maybe the children should go home. The globalists are monsters.

Yeah, I have mixed emotions about the children being there. I hope their parents aren't totally naive about the possible risks involved with this. They're up against some nasty people.

Plenty of good folks were naive about the Jan 6 demonstrations and have been caught up in a nightmare. These things will always end up creating martyrs (of various kinds) for the cause, but you at least hope that they are people who knew what they were getting into and were prepared to make the sacrifice.

Can we all take a moment to enjoy, once again, this conversation between former Seattle mayor Jenny Durken and Chris Cuomo, about how CHOP was really "just a block fair", could last long enough to be the new "summer of love", and were "in the streets fighting a system of domination"?

Dr Coleman foresees the next attack on freedom will be climate change and the recently declared war on cancer. I am posting his film on as many sites as possible.

He is the only doctor I trust. He knows about the flaws and declares that medicine is guesswork. Which I think is right, and which is why I prefer to guess for myself and use herbals.

Expand full comment

The war on cancer perked my ears up this way too. Somehow the elites will use it to impose more restrictions.

Expand full comment

Biden's war on cancer announcement is timely because he has no other positive news for his Mar 1st State of the Union address. It's why there's a concerted effort to start changing the COVID narrative.

Expand full comment

True. But I’m sure he’ll lie about the positive news and cook up something. I hope all our athletes get home safely. And we haven’t gone to war by then.

Expand full comment

They'll probably start by increasing taxes on cancer causing agents, like more tax on cigarettes and booze. Easy to get those through, then escalate from there to milk--cows cause problems for cancer and climate, etc. Gonna be a wild ride

Expand full comment

I think there was a $4600 tax on each head of beef in the Build Back Better plan. They definitely want to destroy the cattle industry, because, uh, methane. Only cattle can sequester carbon by making pasture lands and even desert healthy. The cattle around here are pastured in areas that don’t support crops. And I’ve seen my neighbor feed them stuff from Green Giant that would have gone to the landfill instead, so they can effectively recycle food stuffs that are no longer useable for people.

Expand full comment

Excellent, Katie. One of the best ways to remediate poor land is to graze it. Fields that are too poor for cattle can often support goats or sheep. The constant tilling of hooves, and fertilization with manure, will, over time, improve the soil (increase its carbon content) and increase its productivity. Livestock routinely, as you point out, graze land too poor for other agricultural use. That happens today all across the western USA and Canada, along with many other countries.

And now, since scientists are making good progress on reducing livestock greenhouse gas emissions (if you believe that is a problem), they won't be able to claim that livestock are bad. On balance, they are good for the environment if managed properly.

https://www.ucdavis.edu/food/news/making-cattle-more-sustainable

Expand full comment

I remember when cattle breeder made cattle leaner to produce leaner meat. The report about cattle producing less greenhouse gas made the mainstream media though I don’t remember which one. Checking out your link now…

Expand full comment

Yes. They call that 'animal husbandry.' Specifically, 'selective breeding.' Genetic modification, the old-fashioned way. In a few generations you can select for traits you prefer. Leaner meat, more meat per animal, greater feed efficiency (conversion of feed to meat)... even lower GHGs. Mankind has been doing this since at least biblical times, and I would suspect likely since the dawn of civilization, when we developed from nomadic hunter/gatherers into settled farmers. To plants, too; the ancestor of corn, a type of wild grass, would be no more recognizable to today's chef than a grain of sand resembles a mountain.

This is a trend that continues to this day. The Enlightenment, liberty and freedom make it possible; indeed W. Cleon Skousen wrote a masterpiece on how mankind was able to advance more in the last ~200 years than in the 5000 before. Hopefully, the miracle will continue.

Well... all they need to do is show that cancer is (or even, can be) caused by an infectious agent. You know, like... a virus or something.

Then Fauxi and his minions at NIAID -- the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases -- will be able to say "It's mine!!" Just like he did with AIDS -- read about it in RFK Jr's excellent book, if you haven't already.

Then starts the lockdowns, masking, search for a vax or something that Pharma can stick in arms, or wherever... gee, sounds like we've been there before!
