Very true, although the use of Citizen by old definition is essentially one who serves, a term of enslavement in many ways. As is the term "person" - a corporate term also used to enslave. Anyone who lives "in the USA" here is most probably a 14th Amendment US citizen, which means by default, you already live under both federal and state rule, not as a free man or woman living *on* the land and soil, but as a slave of the corporate government. Don't believe me, look up D&B numbers for your state of state and/or the US Govt (State of Vermont, for example). Ever pass by a sign that says, Town of Kittyville, Incorporated in 1837 - obviously something to this effect. True freedom is one of mind for sure, it is one of actions for sure too, but because you've consented and contracted with your govt at all levels, to be free, there is a process of undoing, reclaiming your "political status", and finding freedom from all tyranny. tasa dot americanstatenationals dot org is a very helpful place to start with your research. At first, you feel like you're diving down the deepest of rabbit holes, only until the moment, and oh is it a beautiful moment, do you finally realize that you are climbing out of the one you have been in all your life.

The progressive left is essentially totalitarian. But it represents a minority in the country. The problem is that the people in the middle who consider themselves “moderate” and “pragmatic” are all too willing to cede their liberties to the state during emergencies (real, exaggerated of manufactured).

As Hayek put it:

“‘Emergencies’ have always been the pretext on which the safeguards of individual liberty have eroded.”

These moderates believe that they are only ceding their liberty temporarily. But nothing is so permanent, in reality, as a government seizure of power.

And so, of course, the progressives exploit, exaggerate, exacerbate and even fabricate emergencies in order to augment the power of the Leviathan.

Those of us who are committed to a free society never believed that we had to grant the government “temporary” emergency dictatorial powers to handle the pandemic.

Free societies are more resilient to shocks than authoritarian ones. But only if they choose to remain free.

All the "crises" and "emergencies" in my lifetime have turned out to be complete bullshit and nothing more than a scam to enrich and empower some at the expense of the rest of us.

All of them.

A large part of the problem - perhaps the very largest part - is that those “moderates” in the middle have never really had to fight and sacrifice for anything. It’s all been given to them. Just a few generations removed from those who had to fight for survival of the free world have given way to a populace of lapdogs hoping if they only follow “the rules” they will be left to carry on as before without much of a price. It’s a lesson that seemingly can only be learned the hardest possible way.

“This is the story of a duel. It is a duel between two very unequal adversaries: an exceedingly powerful, formidable, and ruthless state and an insignificant, unknown private individual. The duel does not take place in what is commonly known as the sphere of politics; the individual is by no means a politician, still less a conspirator or an enemy of the state. Throughout, he finds himself very much on the defensive. He only wishes to preserve what he considers his integrity, his private life, and his personal honor. These are under constant attack by the government of the country he lives in, and by the most brutal, but often also clumsy, means.”

Agreed. They will never have more people on their side than they did with their two-shot "vaccine".

But actual science and reality has forced them to demand "boosters" and I think they are seeing just how unwilling a substantial portion of the two-shot sheep are when it comes to additional doses of experimental mRNA injections.

Our side will only grow, as the former test subjects look to become part of a control group.

Expand full comment

Only 35% got the booster. I'd call them hopelessly lost. The remaining 65% are awake.

Expand full comment

Perhaps this oversimplifies, but consider: We could assume nearly all in the beginning (who took one or two shots) had full confidence in the system. As the year passed, and it became evident the vaccines didn't work as promised, and the need for "a" booster shot was created....a lot of people began to have doubts. We see that in the lower uptake for boosters. Of people who have the option (or soon, will be mandated) to take the booster, there are at least two classes:

1. The true believers, who will unquestioningly do whatever they are told;

2. The initially trusting, but who now have varying degrees of "buyer's remorse."

Group 2 may be further divided as follows:

1. Those who grudgingly will take the booster, through some combination of peer pressure or (more likely) to get/maintain "privilege" of working, going to university, shopping, travel, attend public venues, etc.

2. Those who refuse further jabs, as they have been enlightened that it will be a never-ending series of them. They may still have "full privileges" but depending upon where they live, they are now aware that the privileges can be revoked at any time.

It is from this group 2, perhaps, that our strongest allies will come from. In a way, they may become even more anti-vaxx than us: people who trusted the system and were played for fools. At the very least, they will know they were sold shoddy goods, with unknown long-term risks to health. And they will be especially suspicious of any future promises (or threats) from the powers that be.

I received an email update today about the SCOTUS case about the vaccine mandates and some of it is infuriating. The justices who wave off legitimate concerns about a mandate of that magnitude are disgusting. The one quote that really got me was this:

"Justice Kagan said that the government is paying for these services, saying that if you want “my money" (and calling federal money “its money"), then CMS can require the Covid vaccine."

This goes EXACTLY to your point Gato when you say all your life would you a negotiation with the state. It's like living in someone else's house where they foot the bill. At the end of the day you are there are that entities behest and they get to decide for you the terms. He who supplies the gold makes the rules, as it were. This is what handing over personal decision making and responsibility (for the sake of what? the ease of not having to ever make a decision yourself?) to the government get you. A shiny slab of earth to beg from that one mistakenly thinks of as their own.

People need to gather their convictions and stand up! Stop letting - nay, asking in some cases - the government own you! If you do not own yourself and what goes into your body, then what do you own? Jaack shit

Sweden still supports the vaccine caused deaths theory according to YOUR OWN graph Gato. Around week 15 or 16 Sweden was hitting its highest rate of vaccinations. In your graph above we see a massive drop in the mortality deficit. It is still blue, but the deficit shrinks considerably. It eventually inverts to excess mortality at week 35, but note that in the beginning out October Sweden paused the Moderna vaccine to all younger age groups. That would be week 37 about. That would help keep the orange excess mortality region small and likely scared other age groups/vulnerable away from the vaccine due to the announcement, which likely had the effect of keeping the excess mortality in weeks 35 to 45 relatively under control. The vaccine hypothesis is still highly valid as an excess mortality explanation.

The overall excess mortality for Sweden is an outlier, but it's clear the vaccines are still causing a lot of deaths. Sweden just happened to start 2021 with a big mortality deficit to make the vaccine impact look non-existent, but in fact vaccines were still causing havoc.

One cannot abandon a theory on one counterexample so easily when the theory fits several other countries separated by geographical space and timing in their vaccination campaigns.

After all, we have considerable data over many countries showing that increases in vaccinations lead to considerable increases in covid cases. This possible weakening of the immune system is likely leaking into the death bin for some unfortunate folks.

There is one other element to this that you didn't cover in this piece but have in others. That is the power of peer pressure.

During this whole evil operation, they have used the compliant to hector, pressure, threaten those who would not comply. Fuck, they even used Pastors and other clergy who willingly went along. I saw it first hand. (yes I say F*** too much but still believe in Jesus, which is why I need and believe in Jesus among other things).

And they will ramp this part of the operation up big time. Folks, peer pressure is the greatest force on earth, with all due respect and apologies to Albert Einstein (he falsely claimed it was compound interest, what did he know anyhow? His primary school teacher said little Al was a dull boy).

Don't kid yourself, peer pressure didn't end in high school. You think all the folks at the store or the airport who are wearing a dirty, cloth mask like a chin strap believe those things DO anything? Of course not. That, my friends is peer pressure in action.

Unfortunately, human nature is not naturally courageous. If it was, we wouldn't be having this convo and the AWFUL CAT wouldn't need to post this kind of thing. Sure, there are a few folks, like me, who enjoy watching dumb people squirm (another reason I need redemption, believe me, the list is long) but most folks DO NOT WANT TO STICK OUT!!!

Think about it this way. We live in a cultural current. Most of us fish just swim with the tide, occasionally taking a side trip to see this or that, maybe even eventually going upstream to see something again, whatever. But if you want to see what is really going on then you must swim UPSTREAM most of your life and that is HARD.

Go to duckduckgo.com and look up how salmon spend the last few days or weeks of their lives. It ain't pretty. Almost all of them DIE going all the way up stream.

Some of us will die. But the more of us who begin to object, who refuse to comply, who decide to "stick out", then fewer of us will have to die.

But you have to do this. Don't wait until the time is right. It is always time to do right.

Albert Einstein wrote: "It is certainly unnecessary to await my voice in acclaiming Pablo Casals as a very great artist, since all who are qualified to speak are unanimous on this subject. What I particularly admire in him is the firm stand he has taken, not only against the oppressors of his countrymen, but also against those opportunists who are always ready to compromise with the Devil. He perceives very clearly that the world is in greater peril from those who tolerate or encourage evil than from those who actually commit it."

But to call someone a murderer because they chose for themselves to take it - they weighed things and for whatever reason jabbed, IMO they are not murderers. Now if they start getting nasty, yep, I break out truth because I got it stashed in my hip picket (thank you Gato).

And the 'certain' in "certain unalienable rights" was in the sense of "sure," "indisputable," not, as some seem to think, "particular, of the whole."

Two quotes frame this for me.

"Natural rights is simple nonsense: natural and imprescriptible rights, rhetorical nonsense — nonsense upon stilts. " Bentham.

"The sovereign is he who decides the state of exception." Carl Schmitt.

I think this appeal to the foundational myths of liberal democracy is misguided; the people and institutions who are acting to centralise power and control are indifferent to them.

Look at Macron; if you aren't vaccinated you're not even a citizen. You're "homo sacer" to use Agamben's terminology.

One of the biggest effects of this scam has been being forced to massively revise my liberal priors and theories of political power.

I'd like to point out that the members of the Supreme Court and their aides are exempt from vaccination mandates. What are they so afraid of?

Expand full comment

They should be under the same laws as we are! If they were I bet this case would get denied and closed a whole lot faster.

Expand full comment

Even the people who make the laws and THEIR aids don't have to get jabbed. For some reason they think they cannot get it OR die from it. They are doing it for OUR protection. I can only assume they are immortal vampires sucking the life blood from... us. Guard your veins. They are coming from your precious bodily fluids.

Expand full comment

Amen. Bold and in our faces. Even in the liberty community there is still *way* too much "going along" with the last 2 years of madness.

"if you are not a bodily integrity absolutist, you will have no bodily integrity."

This point alone makes my blood pressure skyrocket as I see "popular" so-called "libertarians" bragging about their latest flight for some leisure trip somewhere where I know damn well they had to submit to giving their body up for "testing" and mask wearing.

If we can't start enduring some hardship and volunteering to suffer a bit to try and hold on to what is quickly disappearing then we deserve what we get. Too many people are still thinking that this is all going away if we just comply and sit back and wait. I've said it numerous times to, what seems, deaf ears: We either endure a few years of hardship, make a bit less money, postpone trips, maybe sell a few things or whatever it takes *now* on *our terms* with the liberty we have left, or we will be forced into generations of hardship on someone else's terms *without* ANY liberty. I'm shocked that some of us still don't seem to get it.

The inimitable Winston Churchill said it perfectly. “If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.” - Winston Churchill

"What country before ever existed a century and half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure. "

I have Covid right now. The idea that anyone would require me to vax or boost so that I don't get or spread it is literally insane. But as I understand it, that's how most vax mandates and passports work. Even on a practical level, if one accepted that these shots were a good idea for everyone, that has zero sense. And that's one really good reason to assume the practical reasoning is wrong, whatever else you know or think.

Exactly right! Just want to add to this that the Illuminati ideology, based on Hegel’s philosophy of the early XIX century, subjugates the individual to the state. No inalienable rights, period. And this is whom we are facing.

But how do you resist? Are you gonna be the lone crazy guy making a scene at Starbucks because they asked for proof of vaccination? There are no good options for resistance.

Expand full comment

Simply don’t go. I have my coffees on benches or at home with friends. I’m not going to lower myself to this level of humiliation in order to give them my money.

Expand full comment

But you should go to let them know they are losing business. No need for a scene, but if asked for your papers, kindly let them know history won’t be kind to them and you will not provide them anything…and then leave.

How I wish those that do have papers would also not comply…sure, they can get into whatever place they want, but on principle, they should not be asked to prove they’ve jumped through appropriate hoops and thus will also not give said business their money

Expand full comment

...Or then don't leave. Be calm. Tell them your health status is none of their business. Tell them that a retail business is considered a public accommodation under the Civil Rights Act of '64, and unless you are a direct threat they can't make you leave, and refusing to serve you is unlawful discrimination. Make them call the cops. Leave when (or before) the cops come. Go back two hours later and do it again.

Expand full comment

If there is someone to take care of the pets and to post your bond, why not demand they call the cops and have you arrested. At this point you have "standing" or an "actionable" case. Shop for an attorney. With all the ridiculous regulations, I cannot believe there haven't been [class action] lawsuits already. To me it would seem a civil rights issue, as well as medical privacy, perhaps other factors. Where are the suits?

Oh - I’m so sorry! I’m so saddened that your family still went in (that’s how I’ve read your comment anyhow). Unfortunately, most that got the shot, just see it as a momentary inconvenience (scheduling, time there, and slight discomfort of the actual shot), but refuse to think about it more critically and if they don’t experience any immediate adverse effect, refuse to believe there’s anything more to think about. We’ve lived in comfort too long and so I am not optimistic about the majority. However, it doesn’t take a majority to effect change! There’s no way a majority agreed with most big changes in our society going back to the Revolutionary War, yet society was moved

Well, I guess it's different for everyone. I go to every protest I can. When I'm there, I speak to the police. I explain why we're there and speak reasonably to them. We need them on side. I've had a lot of success with this. I've written to my MPs, I've encouraged friends and family and written template letters for them to use. I've written to the BBC and to our advertising standards when their spout untrue statistics about the unvaccinated in hospital. I haven't worn a mask once (except travelling on planes and the last time got away with that too). I speak to people whenever I can and share information - I just shared this post with friends of mine. When I am back in the UK I am meeting with my MP with a stack of peer reviewed studies and I will sit and wait while she reads them. She cannot claim ignorance then. I don't want to support big companies like Starbucks anyway. I'll support my local businesses that won't put up with this nonsense. I'm sure there's so much more I could do and I will try to do more this year. I believe small things add up.I believe we can make a difference. #together

Unfortunately it's always difficult being the first one out of the foxhole. Yes, that person is viewed as crazy, ridiculous, a conspiracy theorist, or any other number of purposely degrading explanations. But as those first few begin, the dam begins to break as others feel more and more encouraged to stand up too. Sometimes you have to be willing to be the first ridiculous voice and absorb the cost. Imagine if everyone who thought this shit was bunk stood up at the same time and said "yeah, no thanks" and opted to walk off their jobs. That would be a clear and unavoidable strike at the heart of this as no industry could likely survive without that many workers. The hardest part is starting that momentum

This is the real problem. If 90% of the population were reading this essay, we’d be fine. But most people just shrug and comply. Even if they have a slight sense of fear about it, they fall back on their childhood training of “do as you’re told” and “don’t be difficult.”

First of all, don't get your coffee at Starbucks, and second of all, SOMEONE has to be the one who is fed up enough to go first and be that lone crazy guy making a scene. Sorry, but a) you will inspire others and will not be alone for long and b) I know that it is a tad "uncomfortable" for you to do this, but it is an actually quite small price to pay to preserve things like privacy, bodily autonomy, health-decision-making sovereignty, etc.

YES. BE that crazy guy making a scene. You can NOT comply your way out of tyranny! Sad but true: we HAVE arrived at this point. Don't just RESIST (bs virtue signalling word)...REFUSE.
