it's actually a useful shibboleth.

anyone who uses the term "peer reviewed" to mean "true" or "validated" understand neither peer review, nor scientific method.

it's a near perfect predictor for "scientifically illiterate ideologue."

Well said. That has been exactly its usage in arguments with me. Most recently the Bangladeshi mask study. "Hurr, your evidence is a couple of charts some guy with a cat name made in 5 minutes on his computer, you want to see me make 5 more charts right now? My sources are PEER REVIEWED."
