We need to think about the long game here. So what it Trudope steps down? According to parliamentary rules, the coalition just appoints a new PM. What has changed? Does anything get better? Could even be worse. Or, if the opposition forces a no-confidence vote (forcing a new election to be held in 30 days), and even if the right-wing parties 'win,' what happens then? Last time the Tories were in charge, not much happened. Harper was a decent fellow but not terribly effective; not much really changed in Ottawa.
The change that needs to happen is that the central government -- Canada, USA, Oz, NZ, UK, Europe -- must be stripped of most of its powers. For instance in the USA if the fedgov stuck to the enumerated powers of the Constitution, the government would be much, much smaller and people wouldn't really care all that much who was running things.
But that is a much bigger goal, and the most we can hope for is that this thing with the truckers (and some farmers in Alberta) is just the first wave in something much larger, that we can't really even visualize right now.
But the end game must be a re-definition of what government is, and what it can do. If that happens, then the truckers will have succeeded beyond anyone's wildest dreams.

I agree, and think that not only must we be absolutely resolute in supporting the truckers, we must follow up their demands with further ones, insisting on resignations, arrests, prosecutions and punishment for those who have imposed unscientific and deadly mandates on the public, especially children. And we must reform our laws, getting rid of the right to declare “emergencies”, and the elimination of government agencies that inevitably become corrupted arms of corporate power. What would happen is that any contenders to replace TRUDY as leader of LIBs would get their factions to insist on a neutral interim leader -- temporary or acting leader -- in the House. Now, some of these contenders are already jockeying for advantage so you can imagine how splintered the removal of TRUDY would make the caucus. Not every potential contender is an elected MP, by the way. So the interim leader would lead to delays in talks and resolution of the mandate issue. But it would be one way for the contenders to let someone else take the risks of sorting this out short-term and then campaign for leadership as a sort of hands-off convoy issue. For some that would be an advantage given the readiness of the legacy media to go along. However, the point here is that the deputy leader is not like a vice president who is in a line of progression. She has no real power without TRUDY's backroom goons. She can not stand on her own. I work in the IT sector. You should see the looks and comments I get when I tell my consultants and associates that I don't carry a cell phone. From day 1 of that technology era I knew I didn't want to be reached all the time. Employers who wanted to give me one, with a full support plan, were told that they would have to triple my salary - Pay me 24 hours per day instead of 8 hours. I still don't have a cell phone.

I was surprised to learn that in many nations where even food supply was sporadic many had cell phones. My first question was how was that possible - these things are not cheap after all. Turns out they are cheap to obtain there. But why would companies sell them at or below costs? Answer: the cell phones are not what make the money for these companies - your data is! That is why they give you the $1000- phone with the 'plan' - YOU (the consumer) are the product!

He has boxed himself in and has left himself with no off-ramp: all the Truckers need is for Blackface to engage with them, or at the very least acknowledge they have a point or two, and so he has inadvertently provide no off-ramp for them either. He is behaving just like Chavexz did when PDVSA's brightest went on strike, or Maduro currently, or pick any left-leaning leader anywhere. He is hoping that he can police his way out of this, like a good police state, but unlike the new Ozzie Penal Colony or the Nazi Austrian Empire, the police seem reluctant (in the majority anyway) to do his dirty work. If Blackface does not engage then there will be conflict and I believe this is his goal. I really hope this is not the case.
The Trudeau / Canada situation reminds me a lot of the Newsom / California situation. Lot of sound and furry from those that don't support him, but at the end of the day all he needs to have are the three big population centers onboard with his madness and he's bulletproof. That's what Trudeau knows and why he is sticking with the policies that his base, the big blue cities full of Branch Covidians, wants. The rest of the country or state want them gone now, but when election or recall time comes, they easily coast to re-election.
His own caucus has splintered. His alliance with the NDP is also cracking because the NDP caucus has splintered. There is a grassroots rebellion underway across the political spectrum. The only home, for now, for about half the population is FREEDOM 2022 which has the advantage of not being a political party but a movement. Its leadership has been open and transparent and has shown itself to be very effective both in communicating and in delivering each step of its planned demonstration. The turnout to support the Convoy, in its various branches across the country, has been unprecedented and not tied to any particular party -- and, to think the other way around, has not excluded people from any party and so is the most incusive political entity at the moment. The fringe minority are also invited to join in the cause of freedom; it is hard to gauge but many in that fringe covidmania hobbled minority are splintering away from the fearmongering narrative. The grassroots of each party are heading toward seperation, if not divorce, from the party leadership. This has happened in Canada, in the past and even in recent history, but not so quickly and so deeply and so broadly. This is a true sea change. And the sea is not tamed by the political ships left vulnerable in harbour.
Would be nice to believe but this all sounds exactly like the hyped Larry Elder movement and the narrative that a sea change was underway in California and ready to dump Newsom hope that ended up all being based on a false hope that the leftists that occupy and control the big population centers were waking up and ready for a change. Stolen elections are real. Rigging the system has been going on in Cali for generations. One party system, for all intents and purposes. Intents. Purposes. ALL. It gets to the point where even the opposition understand and work within their limitations, as you described. Breaking up Cali is probally the most efficient way to disrupt the system but that means open rebellion and choosing battles that can be won before the next is undertaken.

That stuff has always been a pipe dream. There have been several plans to divvy up CA so that the majority of land mass, which is red and largely agricultural, can escape the rule of the coastal elite. But, of course, the power in Sacramento now is far too out of reach for those with those plans to ever actually achieve that dream.
Voting with their feet is the best option for all of us, if they continue to vote red in red states, because it would bring down the number of representatives the blue states get and increase the representatives in the red states. The Senate would still be a possible problem.
That's the hope, but it comes with a problem too. Problem is a lot of the left is simply unaware that they are the cause of the problem, so they leave for safer, more free places too but they bring their politics with them and end up turning red to purple or blue. California has done this to it's neighboring states and is doing it to Texas now, for example. They are also fleeing in droves for Idaho now, sending Boise and other real estate markets there through the roof. Same is true of the North Easterners migrating to the southern states.
You might get Canadian migrants coming to the U.S. trying to escape whatever tyrannical policy that's currently bothering them, but they're more often than not still going to want to bring those Canadian big government programs, such as universal single payer health care with them. Their causes simply do not see their effects.. So they just end up creating the same situation from which they fled.
That last point may be worth expanding a bit. The political parties are like ships caught vulnerable in harbour during a massive storm; they would be safer out at sea where the storm would pass them by, but at harbour they are trapped. The metaphor provides a way out for the political hotshots -- take to the sea and ride out the storm elsewhere; or be smashed against the shoreline and enter oblivion.

First past the post means that the party that wins the most seats wins. A riding is a population density based voting district. Each party has riding candidates that make up the seats in the House of Commons (like your house of reps). We don't have anything like an electoral college like you do. The problem with our system is that Canada has a population of 38 million today. With Ontario having a population of 15 million and Quebec around 13 million, you can see how the election is determined in Ontario and Quebec, literally. Add the Atlantic provinces in and the election is over once Ontario has finished voting. The western provinces, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the north really don't have much say in who forms the government. This is a problem as you can plainly see.
I don't think we have recall legislation like you do. The most that can be done is a non confidence vote. That happens when the party in power tries to pass legislation and the ministers (the 'seats') vote against. In that case, the government falls and an election is called. I've never seen this happen when there is a majority government. I have seen it happen where there is a minority. Usually the governing party, if they are in a minority position will make alliances with an opposition party to 'prop them up' to avoid a non confidence vote but at times, they fail.
The US does not have recall power for Congressmen, Senators, or President, barring a Constitutional amendment that won't ever happen. Each state has its own variation for recalling state-level officers.
So, it's kinda like some of our left (blue) states really aren't blue, they just have a county or a city with lots of blue votes that override the rest of the states voters by majority. If, however, the right (red) people move to another state, en mass, it would alter the # of representatives the state gets in Congress, making them (blue) less powerful, in the long run. --- The Electoral College has voted with the majority as long as I can remember, although, by law they don't have to. --- If your PM was elected by majority, you'd probably end up with the same problem then correct?
The PM is an MP elected in a riding. So he is not elected to the office of PM, unlike say a Governor or President in the US. In the parliamentary system, the PM garners the most votes, or solidifies blocks such as alliances between political parties, from elected House members. Imagine Pelosi as the PM by virtue of a DEM majority in Congress. Canada does not have an elected Senate so no counter-balance built-in for regional representation via the States. In Parliament the legislative body is the House of Commons; the executive is the cabinet chosen from among elected representatives who are supportive of the individual who manages to form a majority in the House under his or her leadership. Parties are traditional but not a constitutional requirement. As you can see, there is no real seperation between executive and legislative bodies. The members of the cabinet are elected members of the House and, sometimes also unelected/ appointed members of the Senate. Constitutionally, the PM, with the support of his cabinet, can appoint anyone to serve as a cabinet minister whether that person is elected in his own party, is unelected in the Senate, or is neither in the House nor in the Senate. And further weakening the checks and balances is the problem that the cabinet, or really the PM Office, appoints judges even to the Supreme Court, without any real oversight in the House nor in the Senate. The PM, acting alone, can appoint whomever he wishes whether or not that person has any legal or judicial qualifications and experience. There are conventions, of course, but these are not safeguards against partisan appointments and stacking of the courts. The only real check on all of this power is the readiness of the population, or some segment of it, to rebel either in elections or through other direct means. This is how the Parliament of England was created, step by step, and this is what Canada inherited with the parliamentary system. Lots of conventions, traditions, unwritten 'laws', mixed in with the written Constitution that is just 40 years old or so and largely untested in the judicial system.
You know, having described the system for you, it is striking how much the CONVOY demonstration fits neatly into the history of parliamentary formation and reforms. This is how it was ever done under such a system. Too bad that TRUDEAU is so out of touch that he thought himself master of all.

Canada really has a two-party system that is fragmented but not as severely fragmented as in, say, Italy or Israel. The electoral reform that was talked about recently was a form of proportional representation which, in Canada, is confounded by the artifice of regional representation and further by the artifice of ethnic representation, i.e. french-language but also First Nations aka native indians. It is a mess that would probally require amendment to the Canadian Constitution which, tragically, is unamendable given the problem of electoral representation that is at the root of the problem that proportional representation is aimed at solving. The upshot is that the TRUDEAU campaign played with the notion but had no real plan to implement it effectively. It is a lost cause.
Representation by population is the surest way to electoral reform; however, the federal system needs to be improved to make provinces more autonomous and less dependent on the centralized institution of the PM Office which is NOT a constitutional requirement. Shrink government and most of the problems go away. Limit the federal government, modernize representation, and depend on the autonomous provinces to provide regional counter-balance is probally the most economical way to safeguard the freedom of the individual rather than shoehorn each person into identity groups of one kind or another.
Decentralization of power is the only answer. Unfortunately, preventing the existence and growth of centralized power in the first place is what history has shown to be the only peaceful solution. The way out was the way in and now that we're in (I include the U.S. in this too), you won't ever get out through wishing the ruling class would cede their power and authority or that the ruled classes will 'wake up' and vote in enough numbers to reject a nanny state and embrace the kind of liberty that only a cultural adherence to personal responsibility can deliver.
Most people who consider themselves moderates and right leaning by today's standards are not willing to sacrifice the apparatuses of the state that have been erected over the decades that ultimately and inextricably protects and shifts the power away from the places where they actually live to Washington DC and Ottawa. They'll say they do, but a closer examination reveals that what they actually want is simply a transfer of that power and authority from "their" rulers to "our" rulers.
A bit of a simplification but: Citizens are represented federally by Members of Parliament (MPs). Each MP represents a riding, which is a geographic region. In each of Canada's 338 ridings, candidates from each party run for election. The candidate with the most votes in a riding wins that riding (so, for example, in my riding, a Liberal MP was elected, and she now sits in the House of Commons). The leader of the party who won the most ridings becomes the Prime Minister.
The problem, then, is you can have the majority of the individual votes for MPs of one party, and still have another party win the overall election. So to simplify, if in 51% of ridings, 51% of people voted for Party A, and in the other 49% of ridings 100% of people vote for Party B, the leader of Party A would still become Prime Minister because Party A was "first past the post" in a slim majority of ridings. The question of how slim the majority is, or whether most individuals get the outcome they want, is discounted.

Who else in his cabinet is compromised by the WEF as alluded to by Schwab? We need dissident media to focus on them. Trudeau was obviously hunkered down in days of brainstorming with the NWO who gave him his marching orders to break the truckers. Demanding freedom is too dangerous to their plans. But who else can be peeled off from his ranks? Trudeau has proved himself a traitor to Canada, but are they all? Or did they just think it was a fun big boys club that they got to be part of and now they see what the real goal is - worldwide totalitarian control. Maybe some are willing to break ranks?
We need to think about the long game here. So what it Trudope steps down? According to parliamentary rules, the coalition just appoints a new PM. What has changed? Does anything get better? Could even be worse. Or, if the opposition forces a no-confidence vote (forcing a new election to be held in 30 days), and even if the right-wing parties 'win,' what happens then? Last time the Tories were in charge, not much happened. Harper was a decent fellow but not terribly effective; not much really changed in Ottawa.
The change that needs to happen is that the central government -- Canada, USA, Oz, NZ, UK, Europe -- must be stripped of most of its powers. For instance in the USA if the fedgov stuck to the enumerated powers of the Constitution, the government would be much, much smaller and people wouldn't really care all that much who was running things.
But that is a much bigger goal, and the most we can hope for is that this thing with the truckers (and some farmers in Alberta) is just the first wave in something much larger, that we can't really even visualize right now.
But the end game must be a re-definition of what government is, and what it can do. If that happens, then the truckers will have succeeded beyond anyone's wildest dreams.
Possible? Maybe. Likely? All depends... popular rebellions, especially peaceful ones, have done great things. Think Mandela, Ghandi, Martin Luther King. To get there, we must crystallize a vision of where we want to be. For sure we won't get there, if we don't even know where 'there' is.
Agreed. In the long run, my own leanings are towards decentralization, as was the original intent of the authors of the US Constitution. For the short term, voters need to do a good job of vetting their candidates in order to have a better idea of where their loyalties lie.

I agree, and think that not only must we be absolutely resolute in supporting the truckers, we must follow up their demands with further ones, insisting on resignations, arrests, prosecutions and punishment for those who have imposed unscientific and deadly mandates on the public, especially children. And we must reform our laws, getting rid of the right to declare “emergencies”, and the elimination of government agencies that inevitably become corrupted arms of corporate power. I’m speaking here about the US as much or more than Canada, and this is a worldwide problem. I thank the truckers from the bottom of my heart for opening a window of opportunity for us to act. I’m now going over to donate to them for the third time.

What would happen is that any contenders to replace TRUDY as leader of LIBs would get their factions to insist on a neutral interim leader -- temporary or acting leader -- in the House. Now, some of these contenders are already jockeying for advantage so you can imagine how splintered the removal of TRUDY would make the caucus. Not every potential contender is an elected MP, by the way. So the interim leader would lead to delays in talks and resolution of the mandate issue. I work in the IT sector. You should see the looks and comments I get when I tell my consultants and associates that I don't carry a cell phone. From day 1 of that technology era I knew I didn't want to be reached all the time. Employers who wanted to give me one, with a full support plan, were told that they would have to triple my salary - Pay me 24 hours per day instead of 8 hours. I still don't have a cell phone.

I was surprised to learn that in many nations where even food supply was sporadic many had cell phones. My first question was how was that possible - these things are not cheap after all. Turns out they are cheap to obtain there. But why would companies sell them at or below costs? Answer: the cell phones are not what make the money for these companies - your data is! That is why they give you the $1000- phone with the 'plan' - YOU (the consumer) are the product!

The Trudeau / Canada situation reminds me a lot of the Newsom / California situation. Lot of sound and furry from those that don't support him, but at the end of the day all he needs to have are the three big population centers onboard with his madness and he's bulletproof. That's what Trudeau knows and why he is sticking with the policies that his base, the big blue cities full of Branch Covidians, wants. The rest of the country or state want them gone now, but when election or recall time comes, they easily coast to re-election.
His own caucus has splintered. His alliance with the NDP is also cracking because the NDP caucus has splintered. There is a grassroots rebellion underway across the political spectrum. The only home, for now, for about half the population is FREEDOM 2022 which has the advantage of not being a political party but a movement. Its leadership has been open and transparent and has shown itself to be very effective both in communicating and in delivering each step of its planned demonstration. The turnout to support the Convoy, in its various branches across the country, has been unprecedented and not tied to any particular party -- and, to think the other way around, has not excluded people from any party and so is the most incusive political entity at the moment. The fringe minority are also invited to join in the cause of freedom; it is hard to gauge but many in that fringe covidmania hobbled minority are splintering away from the fearmongering narrative. The grassroots of each party are heading toward seperation, if not divorce, from the party leadership. This has happened in Canada, in the past and even in recent history, but not so quickly and so deeply and so broadly. This is a true sea change. And the sea is not tamed by the political ships left vulnerable in harbour.
Would be nice to believe but this all sounds exactly like the hyped Larry Elder movement and the narrative that a sea change was underway in California and ready to dump Newsom hope that ended up all being based on a false hope that the leftists that occupy and control the big population centers were waking up and ready for a change. That stuff has always been a pipe dream. There have been several plans to divvy up CA so that the majority of land mass, which is red and largely agricultural, can escape the rule of the coastal elite. But, of course, the power in Sacramento now is far too out of reach for those with those plans to ever actually achieve that dream.
Voting with their feet is the best option for all of us, if they continue to vote red in red states, because it would bring down the number of representatives the blue states get and increase the representatives in the red states. The Senate would still be a possible problem.
That's the hope, but it comes with a problem too. Problem is a lot of the left is simply unaware that they are the cause of the problem, so they leave for safer, more free places too but they bring their politics with them and end up turning red to purple or blue. California has done this to it's neighboring states and is doing it to Texas now, for example. They are also fleeing in droves for Idaho now, sending Boise and other real estate markets there through the roof. Same is true of the North Easterners migrating to the southern states.
You might get Canadian migrants coming to the U.S. trying to escape whatever tyrannical policy that's currently bothering them, but they're more often than not still going to want to bring those Canadian big government programs, such as universal single payer health care with them. Their causes simply do not see their effects.. So they just end up creating the same situation from which they fled.
That last point may be worth expanding a bit. The political parties are like ships caught vulnerable in harbour during a massive storm; they would be safer out at sea where the storm would pass them by, but at harbour they are trapped. The metaphor provides a way out for the political hotshots -- take to the sea and ride out the storm elsewhere; or be smashed against the shoreline and enter oblivion.

It's obvious now that our electoral system needs a total overhaul. Previously, I was not in favour of proportional representation as it often leads to anarchy and gridlock. However, after this ****show, I'm willing to give it a try. Anything is better than electing another Trudeau.

First past the post means that the party that wins the most seats wins. A riding is a population density based voting district. Each party has riding candidates that make up the seats in the House of Commons (like your house of reps). We don't have anything like an electoral college like you do. The problem with our system is that Canada has a population of 38 million today. With Ontario having a population of 15 million and Quebec around 13 million, you can see how the election is determined in Ontario and Quebec, literally. Add the Atlantic provinces in and the election is over once Ontario has finished voting. The western provinces, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the north really don't have much say in who forms the government. This is a problem as you can plainly see.
I don't think we have recall legislation like you do. The most that can be done is a non confidence vote. That happens when the party in power tries to pass legislation and the ministers (the 'seats') vote against. In that case, the government falls and an election is called. I've never seen this happen when there is a majority government. I have seen it happen where there is a minority. Usually the governing party, if they are in a minority position will make alliances with an opposition party to 'prop them up' to avoid a non confidence vote but at times, they fail.

The US does not have recall power for Congressmen, Senators, or President, barring a Constitutional amendment that won't ever happen. Each state has its own variation for recalling state-level officers.
So, it's kinda like some of our left (blue) states really aren't blue, they just have a county or a city with lots of blue votes that override the rest of the states voters by majority. If, however, the right (red) people move to another state, en mass, it would alter the # of representatives the state gets in Congress, making them (blue) less powerful, in the long run. --- The Electoral College has voted with the majority as long as I can remember, although, by law they don't have to. --- If your PM was elected by majority, you'd probably end up with the same problem then correct?
The PM is an MP elected in a riding. So he is not elected to the office of PM, unlike say a Governor or President in the US. In the parliamentary system, the PM garners the most votes, or solidifies blocks such as alliances between political parties, from elected House members. Imagine Pelosi as the PM by virtue of a DEM majority in Congress. Canada does not have an elected Senate so no counter-balance built-in for regional representation via the States. In Parliament the legislative body is the House of Commons; the executive is the cabinet chosen from among elected representatives who are supportive of the individual who manages to form a majority in the House under his or her leadership. Parties are traditional but not a constitutional requirement. As you can see, there is no real seperation between executive and legislative bodies. The members of the cabinet are elected members of the House and, sometimes also unelected/ appointed members of the Senate. Constitutionally, the PM, with the support of his cabinet, can appoint anyone to serve as a cabinet minister whether that person is elected in his own party, is unelected in the Senate, or is neither in the House nor in the Senate. And further weakening the checks and balances is the problem that the cabinet, or really the PM Office, appoints judges even to the Supreme Court, without any real oversight in the House nor in the Senate. The PM, acting alone, can appoint whomever he wishes whether or not that person has any legal or judicial qualifications and experience. There are conventions, of course, but these are not safeguards against partisan appointments and stacking of the courts. The only real check on all of this power is the readiness of the population, or some segment of it, to rebel either in elections or through other direct means. This is how the Parliament of England was created, step by step, and this is what Canada inherited with the parliamentary system. Lots of conventions, traditions, unwritten 'laws', mixed in with the written Constitution that is just 40 years old or so and largely untested in the judicial system.
You know, having described the system for you, it is striking how much the CONVOY demonstration fits neatly into the history of parliamentary formation and reforms. This is how it was ever done under such a system. Too bad that TRUDEAU is so out of touch that he thought himself master of all.

First past the post means that regardless of the number of candidates in a riding, whomever gets the most votes wins that riding. Classic examples abound in Canadian elections. There are ridings with three-way races where the first to win 1/3rd of the vote plus one will be the victor even though about 2/3rds voted against that candidate. The Parliamentary system is based on the tradition, not a constitutional requirement, of political parties voting as blocks. Again, many examples in Canadian history of a non-majority governing through various improvised or cobbled-together majority votes on issues that do not provoke a non-confidence vote in the House that would turf the minority government and make possible another minority to be formed, or a new election called. Canada really has a two-party system that is fragmented but not as severely fragmented as in, say, Italy or Israel. The electoral reform that was talked about recently was a form of proportional representation which, in Canada, is confounded by the artifice of regional representation and further by the artifice of ethnic representation, i.e. french-language but also First Nations aka native indians. It is a mess that would probally require amendment to the Canadian Constitution which, tragically, is unamendable given the problem of electoral representation that is at the root of the problem that proportional representation is aimed at solving. The upshot is that the TRUDEAU campaign played with the notion but had no real plan to implement it effectively. It is a lost cause.
Representation by population is the surest way to electoral reform; however, the federal system needs to be improved to make provinces more autonomous and less dependent on the centralized institution of the PM Office which is NOT a constitutional requirement. Shrink government and most of the problems go away. Limit the federal government, modernize representation, and depend on the autonomous provinces to provide regional counter-balance is probally the most economical way to safeguard the freedom of the individual rather than shoehorn each person into identity groups of one kind or another.
Decentralization of power is the only answer. Unfortunately, preventing the existence and growth of centralized power in the first place is what history has shown to be the only peaceful solution. The way out was the way in and now that we're in (I include the U.S. in this too), you won't ever get out through wishing the ruling class would cede their power and authority or that the ruled classes will 'wake up' and vote in enough numbers to reject a nanny state and embrace the kind of liberty that only a cultural adherence to personal responsibility can deliver.
Most people who consider themselves moderates and right leaning by today's standards are not willing to sacrifice the apparatuses of the state that have been erected over the decades that ultimately and inextricably protects and shifts the power away from the places where they actually live to Washington DC and Ottawa. They'll say they do, but a closer examination reveals that what they actually want is simply a transfer of that power and authority from "their" rulers to "our" rulers.
Smaller federal government is usually the answer to many things.

A bit of a simplification but: Citizens are represented federally by Members of Parliament (MPs). Each MP represents a riding, which is a geographic region. In each of Canada's 338 ridings, candidates from each party run for election. The candidate with the most votes in a riding wins that riding (so, for example, in my riding, a Liberal MP was elected, and she now sits in the House of Commons). The leader of the party who won the most ridings becomes the Prime Minister.
The problem, then, is you can have the majority of the individual votes for MPs of one party, and still have another party win the overall election. So to simplify, if in 51% of ridings, 51% of people voted for Party A, and in the other 49% of ridings 100% of people vote for Party B, the leader of Party A would still become Prime Minister because Party A was "first past the post" in a slim majority of ridings. The question of how slim the majority is, or whether most individuals get the outcome they want, is discounted.
