Hope-Simpson remains undefeated. And look at all the "conspiracy theorists" predicting this would happen just as they move into respiratory virus season!

Virus gonna virus.

The problem with Australians is not that they are descended from prisoners. The problem with Australians is that they are descended from prison guards.

Government has a monopoly on violence (in this case implied violence), which suggests that Mao, whatever else you might think of him, was right when he said that "political power flows out of the barrel of a gun."

That's why politicians are so eager to scrap the second. Look how much easier the population is to control when they are fighting with sticks and stones!

Even better is to get the proles to beat each other with sticks and stones while you fly to Davos on your private jet and decide how to divide and conquer the whole world. They aren't worried about non-violent revolution they are worried about the opposite.

Then in 2024 we get to choose between President Coke or President Pepsi, but before then, I think, the equilibrium in the West will have been broken by a major destabilizing event. So maybe we won't be choosing.

I rather like Orlov's take on the end of empire, which he syays will come when suppliers of products to US will stop taking dollars as payment. Maybe, maybe not. But his image that the empire, over the last 30 years, pushed itself closer and closer to the edge, and now it is just teetering, pretending it invents reality and refusing to make causality-based assessments of its extreme fragility. Probably doesn't matter what the destabilizing event is (I suspect a humiliating conventional military defeat, Al-Asad writ large). The Suez moment has already happened, so if I were betting, I'd bet the coup de grace will come prior to 2025.

Australia, the UK, and Canada . . . It's a sad day when the US, which is still crazy hysterical in areas, is saner than all three of these.

Norman saying he'd loved to be proved wrong, like there isn't already a long list of his predictions that have missed the mark by the length of the straight. A complete fool...and the ABC are no better for continually giving him and other bed-wetters oxygen

An article in the Spectator Australia mentioned one city that had been declared a hotspot. (Can't remember which one.) Number of cases? Z.E.R.O. Clown world.

Canberra in the ACT has not had any cases of community transmission in around a year. 300km from Sydney. Yet, it currently declared a hotspot by (at least) South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria. So people from Canberra are banned from travelling to those states. It's farcical

Took them until 22 Feb 2021 to launch a vaccine program, late but still summer there with three or four months for seasonal advantage, have a total pop of 21M, and still only managed ~12% complete? Witness the terrible intersection of stupidity and malice Down Under!
