Inevitably, within a day or two of posting these tweets, someone on the internet finds pictures of these people maskless at a bar or huge party the day before. See Martin, Roland.
The irony is that he's trying to call the Delta pilot as a hypocrite. Based, of course, on complete ignorance. Knowing nothing of the pilot, his politics or even his views on the mask mandate a few days ago, this whiner PRESUMED based on a critical remark he MUST BE THE ENEMY! This is how hate-based belief systems destroy, well, everything of value.
Made me think of Red's quotes from "The Shawshank Redemption":
"These walls are funny. First you hate ’em, then you get used to ’em. Enough time passes, you get so you depend on them. That’s institutionalized."
"Forty years I been asking permission to piss. I can’t squeeze a drop without say-so."
Even with permission some people can't take a mask-less breath. Surely in Jerome Adams' case his reliance is all for show, but others truly developed dependency that his act is meant to perpetuate.
It’s why the Hebrews had to wander in the desert for 40 years after leaving Egypt. It takes a long time re-educate slaves into becoming free thinking people.
I fear it would take longer than 40 years for our Leftist co-citizens. One just posted yesterday that the stress of visiting red states is too much and so she no longer will do so because. . .GUNS! WTAF? Are the guns running around on their own now??
That little Kimber Solo 9 is especially dangerous. Gets a snootful, then goes around telling the chick at the bar he was in the original Dirty Harry movie.
If he has more than a couple, he starts fights with the .45 ACPs.
Actually, during those 40 years in the desert the enslaved generation died out. After the sin of the spies, God realized that these adults were too set in their ways and wouldn’t be able to shake their slave mentality. Instead, their children— who grew up free— would be the ones to carry forward into the land of Israel. Lesson: For some people there is no hope.
I set up a temporary fence outside so that my wife who was poorly a few days ago could sit in the sunshine and the little dog who shares the living space here could join her. Said dog was very resistant to going out that door, I had to pick her up and place her outside.
Evidence in point, it seems to me that measures like masks, as well as these wanna-be vaccines function significantly more as a psychological security blanket for people than anything else. The idea that ANYTHING is better than getting covid is inherently the problem. Not to downplay the potential risks of covid on an individual basis (it can be serious) but just because someone else posits some solutions (mask, lockdowns, transfection etc) doesn't mean these alternatives aren't worse. It is blatantly obvious that we're not "all in this together" as these folks readily villified those who chose to stay unvaxxed and eagerly rallied behind those who sought to demonize off-label treatments.
We have endured over two years of relentless, non-stop, omnipresent, "be afraid, be very afraid" propaganda! Proof positive that Goebbels "big lie" theorem is valid. No amount of "scientific evidence" will convince these poor benighted souls that face diapers are not effective. Because it's not about science. Or even disease. It never was. It's about conformity. The need to be seen to be "doing something" The need to be perceived as virtuous.
I don't think framing the situation as a binary choice between true and false is helpful here. It immediately closes minds. I like the idea of asking friends or family how effective masks are. It makes them put numbers to their belief and might re-open their minds on a subject they have considered closed since 2020. Unless they are ready to return to data gathering mode, our data is worthless. I got the idea from Tess Lawrie's recent interview with David Charalambous. We also have to genuinely want to hear their argument or data and respect their interpretation of ours.
Great tips, Lodazal, and thank you for reminding me about Tess’s interview with David as that’s in my queue!
I do think that technique is more effective when in conversation with friends and family like you described. I don’t know how well it would work on Twitter when we’re tweeting into the ether without the likelihood of the original poster responding, but I see your point about not putting them on the defensive.
I read a few smart ppl on twitter but trying to have any nuanced discussion seems impossible. If twitter is the de facto public square we're in real trouble. I'm glad you and others are trying, though.
I generally avoid social media and only make rare forays (mainly to announce my posts), but when I do engage, it sometimes results in epic exchanges like the one I documented in my last post:
Well, Jerome, in case you missed it, there's a big difference between ENCOURAGING behavior (like "breathe free") and MANDATING behavior (like you will be arrested if you don't wear a mask on an airplane).
What is so fascinating is that the covidians (and like thinkers) can't even tolerate the presence of a thought contrary to their own opinion. Exposure to it results in a flurry of indignation, spit-flecked rants, and the inevitable proud victim selfie on social media.
Normal people don't do stuff like this but at best roll their eyes in response. Who cares what some stranger says? These people are deeply miserable narcissists living in their own self-imposed hell. They think being unhappy is a virtue, it is truly bizarre behavior.
No, for people like this there is no ability to distinguish between "I think this is a good idea" and "I think this should be compulsory." And they project that inability onto others.
Real imposition is getting tackled, shackled and muzzled by police which we have indeed seen. This was a friendly invitation that could have opened a respectful conversation on the matter. The pilot was motivated by love and it took courage to express.
Tess Lawrie put up a great interview with David Charalambous on how to speak in a way that lets those we disagree with re-open their minds to new information. The simplest idea was asking them how effective they think masks are, make them put numbers to their belief. If we just say they don't work the discussion probably ends or becomes a 'do not, do too' shouting match. We also must truly respect their right to decide for themselves and their kids, otherwise we really are trying to impose our preference in a manipulative way.
The Surgeon General wan't placed in his position to know any true scientific data. Just another puppet tool following the orders of what his handlers pay him to do and say.
The hypocrisy is just breath taking... I mean, the mask crazies during the "mandatory" masking were batshit crazy, and now, someone is "triggered" because they were advised to breathe free? Oh the inhumanity. And they apparently have NO IDEA how this looks to the rest of us. Truly unbelievable.
Something has happened to people; I've been calling it mind control. Notice how people instantly flipped from "COVID" to "Ukraine." And how after they get COVID, they say "I'm grateful to be vaxxed and boosted because it would have been worse."
TWO YEARS of 24/7 "you're going to die of COVID" has broken people. They can't let go of the fear of death. Terror Management Theory explains some of it.
In my response to him on Twitter, I mentioned that the pilot didn’t forcibly rip his mask off his face…that his comment was a positive one. How dare that pilot wish him well!
If anybody knows anything about post traumatic stress disorder do you understand that some people actually become addicted to the dopamine rush that occurs when the trauma is relived . veterans who have been through combat describe great difficulty integrating themselves back into peaceful American civil society. veterans describe the sensation they had in a combat as giving them them meaning and purpose.
People watch scary and suspenseful movies or read novels because it jacks up their dopamine and gives them this “rush”
like any substance or process addiction the behavior and the feelings can be reinforcing..
For millions of people the Covid episode gave their lives purpose and meaning that they felt themselves to be part of some greater movement . They were fulfilling their obligations in some grandiose way by complying and obeying with the mask mandates and getting vaccinated.
Giving up an addiction is a very scary thing. If a person thinks they’re not going to have access to the thing that fulfills their addictive cravings they react sometimes in very immature and unpredictable ways
So we have millions of people who are literally addicted to the dopamine rush that the fear has given them. On some level these people are wondering what they are going to do with themselves after this is all over. What will give their lives meaning ?
Great points not to mention the added feeling of superiority they get when lording rules and mandates over others. Especially attractive to low self esteem people
You’re right, of course. But indulging them and treating them like victims (except to the extent we all have been in this psyop) will not help them and will only help the perpetrators of this evil. These addicts need a dose of reality, not pity or enabling. I’m not saying you’re suggesting that, but I find these apologies for the mask addicts and other collaborators ultimately have that effect.
This attitude is infuriating, because they wrongly equate people encouraging them to drop the imposed self-harm with their own desires to force others to conform (regardless of the harm)
While I wouldn't engage with someone I don't know in public about it, seeing someone chosing to wear a facemask is offensive to me.
This may be an unpopular opinion but I DON'T support people wearing facemasks "if they want to" because to me, it represents ardent support for a most inhuman tyrannical agenda.
You can tell me they are simply scared and brainwashed, but I judge people wearing facemasks like I would someone wearing symbols from other oppressive regimes in history.
A bunch of covered faces also causes harm to others. Little kids don't learn to read emotions well, etc. Plus people seem less human. It's never healthy when large groups of people seem less human.
The other day I went into a shop. The cashier was still masked. (A bunch of other employees weren't, so evidently she wasn't being forced.) She didn't look at me or anyone even once. That shows a degree of harm, and whether they want to admit it or not, it does affect others.
One of my first clues 2 yrs ago that something was really wrong was that no one was saying anything about this obvious psychological assault on normal human interactions. If all the supposedly altruistic "health care" officials really cared about us, they would have been suggesting ways to deal with this trauma (as well as stressing other genuinely healthy behaviors, such as exercise, proper nutrition, rest, etc.)
At the age of 62, I instinctively knew how to tell the difference between someone who is trying to help me and someone who is trying to control me.
No. The tyrant forced vaccines on all such employees During three weeks a few months ago, the unvaccinated were required to wear masks indoors while the vaccinated weren't. Then the requirement to wear masks indoors for everybody was imposed again. (Edited since I remember a few details of past executive orders. With new ones coming out all the time, it's hard to keep track of all the details.) But right now, indoor mask requirements for stores and restaurants are removed for all, vaccinated or not.
I felt the same way when I lived in NYC and would encounter groups of women wearing niqab or burqa. No, I don't have the right to demand they take it off, but as a woman, it feels awful to be surrounded by symbols of ACTUAL subjugation and know that they are wearing it by choice and think this is the way the world should be.
And if you don't think purdah (Islamic dress codes) impacts the psychology of those women in their ability to interact with others, you're as fucking delusional as a mask cultist.
It isn’t unpopular with me. I consider them collaborators in evil, whether they realize it or are willfully blind is irrelevant. They need to know their behavior is not virtuous and is not acceptable. Coddling addicts and reinforcing mental illness (whichever they are suffering from) does no one any favors, least of all the addict or mentally ill person.
In the circles I associate with here in Israel (where the last official mask mandates were dropped yesterday), very few people have been wearing them for quite a while. I decided that my reaction to the few who are still hooked on them is that if I have to interact with them, I don't look them in the face. I don't know if they get any message from this, but it is much easier for me.
I think that Adams is a shill rather than a useful idiot. He may well know that masks don't work *to protect against illness* but also knows that masks do work as no-touch self-suffocation torture to get people to "consent" to experimental poisoning and gene modification -- and a medical professional today can have no higher goal than eugenics.
I, for one, am grateful that these people signal who they are by masking. Lepers in the Middle Ages rang bells; these mental lepers wear masks.
In fact, we should inform them that a simple plastic bag with a rubber band cinching it around the neck is 100% effective at blocking viruses, bacteria, etc. It also reduces CO2 emissions...
Let me translate his tweet: "I feel uncomfortable wearing this when everyone else isn't but I virtue signaled about mask wearing for so long that I no longer know how to stop so I will just castigate others like usual."
Another Dr. Just how much of a gut punch is it to you medical professionals who went through the system without being mentally and morally damaged ,to see your colleagues not only " drink the koolaide" but encourage those around them to chug it also?
As a retired woman of science, it started for me when those who should have known better started touting the same sentence in any given field: the Science is Settled.
Encouraging a slave to embrace freedom is a tad different from forcing the free to become enslaved.

It’s always hard to know where we are between “the science has changed” and “the science is settled”. I wrestle with this on a daily basis.
Hypocritically delicious!
One rule for thee, one rule for me, and I will pretend that I'm thee.

Calling back to the elegance of Shawshank puts you in the High Cotton! Thanks for sharing those quotes!
Poignant example of learned helplessness!
Perhaps he's one of those unfortunates who looks 'hotter' when masked.

Fine. We don’t want any judgemental scardy cats in red states anyhow.
Amen! Well said!
Mine do! I had to chase one down in the corn field t'other day. 😉😋
OH SHITI Did my guns get out again?

Margaret Anna, Now you are getting to be a poet besides an incisive writer. Well said.
Aww, thanks, Dr. K 😌

He prefers to be called a bondservant at this point. There is safety in servitude. Plus the taste of bacteria is delightful to some. Apparently.
I call them all white washed walls.

Tweet it to him! (I would but I'm locked out!)
I added this tweet (https://twitter.com/MargaretAnnaAl1/status/1517164136639000576) in case he wants to learn something (doubtful):
Those still clinging to their security blanket may wish to review the scientific evidence (as opposed to The $cience™) proving that masks:
• do not prevent the spread of COVID
• may cause physical health problems
• may inflict psychological harm

They sold their souls and for what?
Ah, so you think he’s disingenuous? Could be, but he doesn’t strike me as part of the 30% who are resistant to mass hypnosis.
The Twitter posts of him earlier that were posted in a comment by the author suggest the actor interpretation.
Yikes. That makes this far more sinister and less pitiable than it initially appeared.

Great idea and done!
A great way to put it!
Diversity is our strength! But not diversity of thought, only the superficial kind!
"Diversity" - as defined by the woke.
"I support the latest thing"
Brainwashing or mind control?
I would like to appropriate your comment and post it on a different site. You okay with that?
Sure.
No, for people like this there is no ability to distinguish between "I think this is a good idea" and "I think this should be compulsory." And they project that inability onto others.
Iron Law of Woke Projection never misses.
Sad that the Pilot obviously knows the mask data better than the former Surgeon General.
The really sad part is the Surgeon General knows masks don't work but he still says they do.
Clueless, clueless, clueless. And, I just have to say this, and forgive me for being blunt, but: what a moron Jerome is!
Something has happened to people; I've been calling it mind control. Notice how people instantly flipped from "COVID" to "Ukraine." And how after they get COVID, they say "I'm grateful to be vaxxed and boosted because it would have been worse."

Then the requirement to wear masks indoors for everybody was imposed again. (Edited since I remember a few details of past executive orders. I guess the biggest problem is that an airline pilot knows more about how respiratory viruses work than a doctor and former surgeon general.
I think that Adams is a shill rather than a useful idiot. Exactly. I immediately know to stay (much farther than) 6 feet away from anybody in a mask :)
I actually prefer to watch them squirm then scamper when I crowd them.
Hubby is a pilot. Pilots have not fared well with the vax. But of course it’s just a coincidence.
Pilots are closer to the sun. It is obviously global warming.
Plus airplanes are air-conditioned, so it is too cold and too hot all at once.
Plus stewardesses are usually hot.
You haven't flown commercial in a lon-n-n-g time I see.
They should cover their faces to protect us all from being distracted by hotness.
And to fight climate change.
Space vagina!
Do they have lucky charms for breakfast? Could also be that
It’s funny when they act judgey or criticize people for doing the exact same thing they’ve been doing for over two years now.

Plot twist: microplastics are chemically addictive.
Is this true?
Probably not.
At this point, there is nothing I won't consider. But the mircroplastics are not great to inhale, right?
