Fortunately we don't need to worry about them propagating.

Is it just late here in central US (sleep deprivation) or are these comments getting funnier. 🤣🤣

I said a similar thing about the Clintons. It's a wonderful world that pairs up two despicable people so that there are two deeply unhappy people instead of having them pair off with others resulting in four deeply unhappy people.

They do! You can see through the netting they have N95 masks on. They are on the "If a little is good, a LOT is better" program. I would have been on ROFL at that sight!

Past time for pity. These people are the people who allow this madness to continue. Contempt is the minimum called for now.

Hey, HEY a little respect here, you naughty kittens!

These are clearly dissident, off-grid beekeepers who have avoided governmental mask, social distancing AND vaccines mandates and have found an incredibly brilliant way to defeat the overhead spy camera watching their every move in the supermarket. It's obvious, because they are wearing green kitchen cleaning gloves instead of canvas beekeeper gloves. I'd expect smart cats to notice such brilliance!

Jeezz, we could learn a thing or 2 from the dissidents...

Well they must have severe allergies to indoor bees. Murder hornets have been found where I live, I was reading a certain type of bee are figuring out how to fight them off....using shit.... No joke

Expand full comment

Okay, I have gotta ask. WTF is all the hype over murder hornets all about. They came from Japan. How do you (Not you individually.) think we who live in Japan deal with them? Are we all ghosts having died years ago after being stung by them? We get them every year and every year we spray them and the are done with them for the time being. I have not heard of a single stinging incident with them minor any other bees here. Sure that they occur but not news worthy events.

Expand full comment

They kill entire bee hives and wipe them out. Their a new threat to the bees, where I live, they haven't learned to defend against them. People freak out because they've never seen them before and their big!

Expand full comment

Ah, I forgot that they destroy bee hives. Big? We found a dead one in our yard late Fall bigger than a humming bird. I thought it was a toy at first. Still, what I read was just as much panic as we see from Covid. When did panic become the first and only reaction to anything different?

Come on now. This is a scene from the movie Outbreak in 1994…right? Where a real virus with real lethal potential (Ebola) actually kills most it infects? Or, is this a scene from Covid: the Comedy?

If we are talking about Russian literature, then the crux of the argument may be between Alyosha and Smerdyakov. It's about how to fight evil without becoming evil oneself. That has always been the argument.

Expand full comment

By following Jesus.

Solzhenitsyn, another good Russian author on that subject too. One of his sobering thoughts was that if we try to cut all the evil out of the world, we will have to cut pieces of our own heart out too. To face others evil with integrity and honesty we always have to face and yield to God our own. The nature of the Cross in Christianity. The basis for His Grace.

The scary thing is I remember this sort of thing happening at the start of lockdown in 2020. We had a picture in the press of a guy who went to the store in full scuba gear (oxygen tank et al). It's like we've gone full circle. There seems to be no way off this merry-go-round.

LMAO, those Murder Hornets.....our product, VESPA, actually uses the oligopeptide from the murder hornets to trigger higher rates of fat oxidation at a cellular level....we'll be developing data in the first quarter of this year because there is some independent data out there showing anywhere from a 0.5 gram/minute to 1.0 gram/minute increase in peak fat oxidation.....and, the more fat your cell's burn the less hospitable the environment for RNA replication.

Don’t know for the States but crazy has been the watchword of the day for two years here in Japan. The inlaw’s held their yearly New Years family gathering on the 2nd. One household did not attend last years due to Covid but all were present this year. After spending several hours around small camping tables feasting and talking w/o masks, my son wanted to play UNO with his aunts and uncles. They all sat on the floor to play with their masks on. Every so often, my mother in law called for the air to be changed and whoever was closet to the windows open Ned them as she opened the door to the apartment. As this is in an upper floor, it got down right cold quickly. After 3 minutes, the windows were closed. The emergency declaration was lifted Nov. 1st.

I have been thinking of donning a bee keeper's hat for some time. Or maybe a burka. I am now Back in Blue State Hysteria after a hiatus in Red State Normalcy, and two nights ago a grocery store clerk literally tried to take my groceries from me, after I had paid for them, in front of my two small children, because she did not like how I was wearing my mask. I yelled at her, "No", took back the groceries, left the store, and have not decided my next steps yet...

On another note, I recently asked a Russian to confirm the correct interpretation of the Chekhov quote as there are numerous variations (https://www.azquotes.com/author/2776-Anton_Chekhov/tag/gun) and was told this is the most accurate version:

“My own experience is that once a story has been written, one has to cross out the beginning and the end. It is there that we authors do most of our lying … one must ruthlessly suppress everything that is not concerned with the subject. If, in the first chapter, you say there is a gun hanging on the wall, you should make quite sure that it is going to be used further on in the story.”
