Indeed. I have saved thousands of dollars, and feel that I am much better informed about world events, since I cancelled my subscription many years ago.
The WSJ is still useful for its Op-eds and financial data.
The news has become thoroughly woke since the Murdoch Boys took over. An ex-NYT employee runs the comment boards, so you can imagine how those are.
Ex - headline today: "What is Pushing the National Debt to its Limit?. In years past, that story would not have a "big question" as its headline, rather an accusatory statement...
The WSJ columnist Allysia Finley has been doing fantastic work on all things Covid-related. My wife has turned around on the uselessness of Covid vaxxes, based on Finley's reports.
For better or worse, she wouldn't have been open to the idea if I had shown her the exact same information from Breitbart, the Daily Sceptic, or even the Epoch Times.
It's a sad commentary on the state of the world, of course, but this is the hand we have to play with.
Ha! I got a trial subscription just to read coverage of the professor suing for employment with natural immunity vs a shot. Then I flew back to Europe and had the worst time canceling the subscription! Time difference, phone charges, US address issues, such a pain....
I subscribed at a very low yearly rate to get their daily crossword puzzle. That promo has expired and I keep forgetting/putting off/avoiding the call to customer service to cancel. They make it so easy to join, harder to escape.
I did. I miss some of the New Yorker cartoons though. It was also fun for a while to see how much propaganda each issue of the newspapers and mags contained.
Didn't Jonathan Swift write 'A Modest Proposal' concerning the children of the "useless eaters"? I halfway expect the WEF to suggest it as policy in a few years.
With rulers flying around on an island called 'La Puta', and scientists spending their time in an academy thinking up things like how to extract sunlight from cucumbers.
Yep. Swift pretty much nailed it so hard the hammer ablated.
Agree! Intermittent fasting is great. I’m usually 8pm - 11:30am. Good for the ole blood sugar. Plus I find myself not eating as much when I can eat. The overall all advice from the news ....is stupid. 🤔.
I notice the same thing. If eat early in the day I keep munching all day. However, if I wait until my mid-afternoon snack (usually nuts of some type) I can get by with very little food until I eat a late dinner (usually pure carnivore food - my ancestry is Dene Indian, so very few veggies or starches for me!)
I do intermittent fasting and skip breakfast during the workweek. Just coffee. Now I don't generally get hungry until about 11 am. But I love cooking a big breakfast/brunch on the weekends.
(Black) Coffee is such a great compliment to a fast for so many reasons! I like to switch my fasting window on the weekends and eat a big earlier brunch and then "supper" - still just two meals in a compressed timeframe.
I try - repeat try - to practice intermittent fasting, where I limit my meals to an eight hour window, which usually means having breakfast around noon. Breakfast is the one meal you can never skip, because whatever time you have your first meal of the day, that is when you "break your fast" from the night before. You may skip lunch, dinner or supper; but you can never skip breakfast.
What's really disturbing about this? It's the Wall Street Journal. I expect this out of the New York Times or Bloomberg, but the WSJ? When the WSJ isn't pretending anymore, we've got problems.
The story itself is just about how the price of breakfast foods has gone up. It doesn't advocate not eating. Some dopey headline writer came up with that one.
The WSJ is very much in support of the establishment, so I'm not surprised. It's just that they don't often go to the lengths to justify that the others do. They just pretend the problems don't exist.
Yeah, food, shelter and clothing are for wimps. I’m going to live naked, under a bush, in Alaska, and eat nothing but fresh air and the odd unicorn steak. Think of all the money I’m going to save!
I haven't eaten "breakfast" in the morning for years, and correctly, it is better for your health to extend your fasting period each day. However, I DO eat grass fed animal products as the staple of my diet, and stay away from processed foods and therefore BUGS. Blech! Let the reptiles in Davos eat ze bugs. Personally, at over age 60 and since cutting out the carbs, I've never been healthier. Just about everything they tell the masses from grade school through college about health is exactly the opposite of the truth. And we can see the evidence all around us.
The move is to herd people into dense, urban areas, force vaccinate, and restrict dietary choices to food stuffs of 'their' choosing; we are being treated like animals.
What did Anthony Fauci consign those poor little beagles to?
cancel the wsj and have breakfast, better tradeoff

I think WSJ is still more balanced than most news sources. It does allow for wide editorial opinion which can be extreme or not mainstream.
The expression is 'the cleanest shirt in the dirty clothes hamper'.
Not exactly a compliment.
So true 🤣
Did you like “ inflation cools but at a slower pace”? Joe Biden liked it.
Those who subscribe are funding the efforts of those who are working to destroy the USA.
And what a nosebleed it was to get the subscription cancelled - needed a phone call to a service desk that took their time with cancelling.
Never again - there’s nothing in that paper for me.
Despite 3 calls they continued to bill me. It took a fourth call.
I can always cancel my PayPal account if they won’t stop.

I had the same experience with a telephone scammer once: trial subscription that was practically impossible to cancel, negative billing.
Gee, you think there's a connection? MSM and scammers?
Dirt bags all of them
I subscribed at a very low yearly rate to get their daily crossword puzzle. That promo has expired and I keep forgetting/putting off/avoiding the call to customer service to cancel. They make it so easy to join, harder to escape.
Although, there are some erudite writers at WSJ, I think the material from the independent journalists and writers on Substack is more resourceful.
I'm seriously considering it
Brilliantly suggested
Figures. The Wall St Journal, Fox News & the NY Post are all owned by gun-grabbing "cheap labor" globalist scumbag Rupert Murdoch.
I used to subscribe to the WSJ. That was a looooooooooong time ago, in another universe. (Been asking Scottie to beam me up ever since)
Hang in there. Just a little while longer. If recent news reports are to be believed, the Mother Ship should be coming along shortly.
Funny but scary at the same time
agree.

Donut get me started. These people cerealously give me the crepes.
Orange you glad we still get two meals?
We're toast. Muffin to see here.
Just sleep til noon, call your first meal lunch. It's the same way they make 'green' energy.
Lol
You're on 🔥 this morning!
So cute!!!
Must be time for brunch. Are you buying?
I am hungry!
Eggcelent!
We still get two meals and real meat on Sundays.
Yeah. And you get to stand in long lines every other Tuesday to get one mismatched pair of shoes.
All the cool kids are doing Communism these days
I actually skip breakfast most mornings. I intermittent fast. I have 3 small meals after
11:00 am. Bacon and eggs or protein first. Works for me. But still that stupid advice has a different agenda.
I intermittent fast too.
I don't believe it should have to be a financial decision. And what about the children?
Children need to eat good nutritious food to grow. Stuff like eggs!
Didn't Jonathan Swift write 'A Modest Proposal' concerning the children of the "useless eaters"? I halfway expect the WEF to suggest it as policy in a few years.
Swift was prescient! He accurately predicted, nearly 300 years ago, many aspects of our current slide into chaos.
With rulers flying around on an island called 'La Puta', and scientists spending their time in an academy thinking up things like how to extract sunlight from cucumbers.
Yep. Swift pretty much nailed it so hard the hammer ablated.
Great reference! 😳

Same, noon to 8pm
Same. Intermittent fast until around 1:00 with two large meaty meals before 7:00.
It works well for me.
I IF 5 of 7 days, and I work it into my 5/2 schedule. My window is usually 2ish-8:Isham.
After I parsed out "Isham", it made sense. I seldom dine between 2 and 8 AM myself.
I do intermittent fasting and skip breakfast during the workweek. Just coffee. Now I don't generally get hungry until about 11 am. But I love cooking a big breakfast/brunch on the weekends.

Al Gore would benefit from skipping a few meals.
perfect point

Agreed. I skip dinner and I sleep better.
Nothing makes me want to abandon my IF routine like seeing the Marxists recommend it. But then, they always have been fans of people not eating.
zactly.
In the interest of the Great Reset, consider skipping lunch and dinner too. Yer gonna die anyway, someday.

*nods... shakes head... nods again*

Oh, that was dirty. And I didn't go looking. When will I learn?
Don't forget, the WSJ is part of the Trusted News Initiative. We definitely have problems;

Touché
To save the planet, stop breathing.
Same thinking, different issue.
I havnt eaten breakfast in years, when you eat nothing but meat you can eat less often. This won't work with crickets 🤡
The lesson to take home, from WEF to WaPo to "liberal democracy" to global capitalism, is this:
You aren't important.
You aren't needed.
You are a resource to be exploited until you are no longer profitable.
And whatever happens, you will not be missed.
The move is to herd people into dense, urban areas, force vaccinate, and restrict dietary choices to food stuffs of 'their' choosing; we are being treated like animals.
What did Anthony Fauci consign those poor little beagles to?
Whenever you eat your first meal of the day, it is breakfast. So unless they are advocating not eating at all, there is no skipping breakfast.
excellent point
