hey you guys, so, my wealth advisor said “if you believe that the reason natural gas prices are going to be volatile this winter is “the weather” then i have fracking company in connecticut you should look at.”
do you think that might be a good investment?
because he was kind of laughing and honestly, he’s a pretty shifty guy…
I'm expecting it to be cold this winter. That's what my magic eight ball said. I verified that by licking my finger and putting it out the window. I want a Joe Biden cabinet position.
We are a huge gas production state, but our state government taxes the snot out of its production and has no intention of cutting those taxes because it relies on revenue to fund its big ass budget. The same can be said for other states who provide energy. One thing that we have always had was cheap natural gas, but I’m sure Brandon will fix that.
Because we knew what the weather was going to be every other year? Oh god these people. They would literally piss on your head and tell you it was raining.
High prices may not be your last worry. The grocery shelves are starting to run out of stocks in my (major) suburb. We may be in for a tough winter when shelves are empty.
If scientists are right, we have entered a colder period lasting until about 2050. The coldest will be around 2030. Search for the Grand Solar Minumum. If the scientists are right then the whole climate agenda falls away and it's all about something else. Search and find.
And people flocking to rural areas in the coldest parts of the country where food cannot be grown but a couple months out of the year to supposedly escape tyranny are in for a rude awakening. If you live somewhere where you can grow food most of the year, stand firm and fix your state! Say NO to tyranny and Karen.
Of course it's the weather. Same reason that Southwest cancelled all those flights even though the weather didn't affect Delta or American. Then, when Southwest eased its vaccine mandate on pilots, the weather began affecting Delta, which started to insist on similar mandates. When Delta backed off, the weather spread to American Airlines which, coincidentally, had just imposed similar vaccine mandates on pilots.
Not to mention the cognitive dissonance between this narrative that it might be particularly cold this winter and drive up heating costs, and the other narrative that the world is getting catastrophically warmer and we have to take massive action to slow it down a tiny bit. It's another test of just how stupid are we, will we go along with any narrative they decide to push?
"...according to the Energy Information Administration."
Translation: the government says it definitely most certainly has nothing to do with their policies. It's the weather!
Wait, didn't AOC tell us that volatile and extreme weather is the result of energy policy not addressing climate change? Didn't the Biden admin say that? Shut down pipelines because climate change but then blame the high gas prices on the volatile weather you're supposed to be mitigating by shutting down pipelines. Classic Brandon.
natural gas.... is the cleanest of the falsely accused fossil fuels. It is also the least safe and normally not stored on site of use, especially electric plants!!
here is what happens when weather gets really cold: the gas to electric plants is diverted to homes.... the electric plants sign on to reliable supply and keep an energy source that is storabe: usually stove oil.
So very cold in a region causes the price of gas to go up to meet increased burning, mostly n houses. The price ofoil skyrockets bc the generators start calling suppliers who are not as controlled as gas line sellers.
the issue with gas and oil is granholm is a greenie, they cut us crude production and opec+ being mercantilists just won't pump more at lower price.....
the only thing to do for the consumer is reinstate trump's policy of pumping up to world market......
politics in europe, a tiff between russia/belrus and the germanys/poles might shoot gas prices up as a tanker from houston can bring gas to hamburg as easily as new jersey....
in texas last year the gas fired electric plants were out of gas bc the electric pumps went down in the pipelines, bc wind is unreliable!
if a cold winter in usa north we will see huge jumps.
Yes. Hedging your bets. It's always the best way to go. If it's colder than they expect, they want to have the flexibility to charge more per unit of energy. And if it's warmer than they expect, they want to have the flexibility to charge even more per unit of energy. Of course, the reality is that they are going to charge whatever the fuck they want regardless of how the weather shakes out. Which begs the question, why do they play this stupid game?
kitten corner: gaslighting on gas

Just like "weather" was the reason the airlines cancelled flights last month

I have 14 cord of firewood put by. I feel like a genius, except now I have to guard it!
Is this the first winter in history that we're not sure if it's going to be cold?
Because we knew what the weather was going to be every other year? Oh god these people. They would literally piss on your head and tell you it was raining.
Uncertainty about the next three months’ weather. Certainty over global warming. Ummmhmmm, sure. How convenient.
Tbf, hot air in Washington does tend to have extremely large effects on the rest of the country.
High prices may not be your last worry. The grocery shelves are starting to run out of stocks in my (major) suburb. We may be in for a tough winter when shelves are empty.
The comments are gold here. Feels so great to read other cynics that are so pithy.
nice catch gato. it does seem likely this is the same "weather" grounding all those planes

It's always the weather. Let's go Brandon!
Oh my Gosh. The Ministry of Truth really doesn't think we are very smart does it?

How will they produce nitrogen when they end all the fossil fuels 🤷♀️
Got 4 cords of wood, a Kalamazoo President from '32, sheep, chickens, and taters in the cellar.
So it’s going to be colder because of climate warming?

Well I know just the cure for natural gas shortages, Connecticut Gas - hook up a pipe to Brandon’s bony ass!
No me gustan gatos, pero me estoy convertiendo en un gran fanatico de BoriguaGato.
Search for Solar minumum on youtube. Look for. Valentina Zharkova

Natural gas prices have pretty much always been volatile for all sorts of reasons, ESPECIALLY when they became tied to the Futures Market!!
I can see fortunes being made (and lost) by playing it right. I am too scaredy cat to try it. Let the Eastern Bastards Freeze in the Dark
Have you seen bitcoin miners using flare gas https://www.reuters.com/business/sustainable-business/oil-drillers-bitcoin-miners-bond-over-natural-gas-2021-05-21/

I wonder if I could make money selling my dog's gas...
Hey kitty I do LOVE your posts but who is getting tired of all this gaslighting already besides ME??
I guess due to the labor shortage they had to hire comedy writers for the headlines.
The HO and NG shorts are going to get *squeeze* like a Death Star trash compactor.
What happens in Winter?
Your financial advisor is definitely from the Lionel Hutz school of professional advice.
nothing to do with supply. ok.
Is his name, by any chance, Charles Boyer?
How about explaining why natural gas prices have been volatile for the past year?
If you frack in Connecticut, all you'll get is nutmeg.
Do cats like nutmeg??
adding a fracture to the gaslighting of the world - sounds you would nicely ride the trend
