We once had a little koi pond in the yard. My husband's pet project. The fish quickly recognized him as the provider of food. They were interactive from the beginning. They could see who came out the sliders to the back porch and if it was him, they would crowd together in the nearest corner at the surface, awaiting his pets and treats. If our kids or any stranger opened the door they would look up to see who it was, then rush to hide. They quickly learned that our cats were no threat and would actually tease them. Do fish laugh? It seemed so, when they successfully lured the small cat to fall in. The fish wintered over very well with a surface de-icer and an insulated dome, for six years, growing bigger every year. Every spring it was like a reunion. They knew my husband but looked askance at me. Then in 2013 winter there was a terrible ice storm followed by deep freeze, and we had no power for 48 hours. The de-icer froze. The fish also froze. When we removed the dome to check on them and saw them, stuck in clear solid ice, we wept. Who knew you could get so attached? When I watched My Octopus Teacher last year, I wept with the same feelings, all over again.
Daszak should have been imprisoned in US for braking the law against gain of function research. There is no reason to indulge in Russophobia. Russian people suffered more than any other nation from wars and jews-communists. Covid also took a high toll. Why not to learn from the person who participated in engineering of the virus to save Russian lives? Russian scientists did not weaponize the virus, Americans and Chinese did. Some of you who posted Russophobic comments should take a look inside yourselves to find why you hate Russia so much.
