I have an inlaw with MbP, and I can testify to the horror that condition creates to all around.
Growing up her kids were always sick from something, something undiagnosed but very exotic and dangerous. Never a paper trail or any tests done. Always switching doctors and therapists. Always breaking down crying about how difficult her life as a single mother* was when social services finally acted on reports from school and others. She even tried to fob off one of her kids on me and my wife once - when we replied "Sure but only if we do it as a full adoption" she backed out real quick. All she really wanted was free baby-sitting whenever she felt like it.
(*4 kids, all different fathers, two of them convicted felons and one a serial philanderer, who hightailed it within six months of living together with her.)
And about every six weeks after the latest strange, unexplained and undefined medical condition one of the kids were appointed as Special! Oh so gifted! Oh so high IQ (no tests though)! Oh so skilled and brave and righteous and dutiful and blah blah blah. All the while badmouthing the other kids even in their presence.
And six weeks later she would switch who's the sick one and who's the prodigy.
But never anything, not the slightest shred, of any tangible evidence to anything being wrong with the kids or them being special.
Nowadays, she lives alone in a one-room appartment, her kids having moved one after the other first thing after becoming legal adults - even if they had to sofa-surf before finding a place. She doesn't have their e-mail, not even their phone numbers or addresses.
And everything is - you guessed it - the toxic cis-het white patriarchy's fault. Because this woman is an expert. Any subject you care to talk about, she knows better. Her education? 9 years compulsory communal school and two years training as a nurse. Yet she knows better than everyone.

Had to make a visit to the emergency room last night. A mother and father and their several children were the only others in the waiting room. I finally had enough and VERY loudly asked if they could please quiet their children, as my head was about to explode from the shrieking. I got nasty looks from the parents but the mother gathered them up and hustled them out. I have had enough.

Thank you. I noticed this crazy need for attention years ago and it has gotten steadily worse over time. I think I notice this stuff because I’m extremely comfortable being alone or being with my husband and I really do not crave interaction with many others. So it stands out to me when I see what people do to get attention. It’s really disease-level at this point and I am being serious. I wish a psychiatrist could help explain this pandemic of attention seekers.

I have an inlaw with MbP, and I can testify to the horror that condition creates to all around.
Growing up her kids were always sick from something, something undiagnosed but very exotic and dangerous. Never a paper trail or any tests done. Always switching doctors and therapists. Always breaking down crying about how difficult her life as a single mother* was when social services finally acted on reports from school and others. She even tried to fob off one of her kids on me and my wife once - when we replied "Sure but only if we do it as a full adoption" she backed out real quick. All she really wanted was free baby-sitting whenever she felt like it.
(*4 kids, all different fathers, two of them convicted felons and one a serial philanderer, who hightailed it within six months of living together with her.)
And about every six weeks after the latest strange, unexplained and undefined medical condition one of the kids were appointed as Special! Oh so gifted! Oh so high IQ (no tests though)! Oh so skilled and brave and righteous and dutiful and blah blah blah. All the while badmouthing the other kids even in their presence.
And six weeks later she would switch who's the sick one and who's the prodigy.
But never anything, not the slightest shred, of any tangible evidence to anything being wrong with the kids or them being special.
Nowadays, she lives alone in a one-room appartment, her kids having moved one after the other first thing after becoming legal adults - even if they had to sofa-surf before finding a place. She doesn't have their e-mail, not even their phone numbers or addresses.
And everything is - you guessed it - the toxic cis-het white patriarchy's fault. Because this woman is an expert. Any subject you care to talk about, she knows better. Her education? 9 years compulsory communal school and two years training as a nurse. Yet she knows better than everyone.

I thought “the science” now acknowledges that a vaxxed person can still transmit the virus—in other words, the jab has no impact on transmissibility. So if that’s your reason for getting it, it doesn’t withstand scrutiny. Older ppl wanting to avoid hospitalization? That’s another story.

If the cure makes you sick, how can you call it a cure?? I don't get sick when I eat homemade meals without chemicals and fresh vegetables from our garden. I don't get sick when I exercise and drink clean uber filtered water. Um, maybe try teaching your child to take care of themselves and their immune system and you won't have to stay up all night with them as their poor little body screams, "what did you do to me?!". Severe reactions do NOT mean something is working. It means something is flippin' wrong.

Thank you. I noticed this crazy need for attention years ago and it has gotten steadily worse over time. I think I notice this stuff because I’m extremely comfortable being alone or being with my husband and I really do not crave interaction with many others. So it stands out to me when I see what people do to get attention. It’s really disease-level at this point and I am being serious. I wish a psychiatrist could help explain this pandemic of attention seekers.

I completely agree! Everything you just said has come out of my own mouth many times :)....mental illness (or weakness) on a massive global scale. The best explanation I can come up with is a giant emptiness in the middle of these ppl’s lives, it leaves them so needy. It’s very sad for them and has unfortunately become catastrophically destructive for all of us :(.
