The boss of this has issued a 'style' guide which eliminates the use of words such as wife, husband and promotes the use of they/pronouns etc. He claims no one has complained and its not monitored. However, there is no options given in the quotes available which all start "At XXX we use (blah, blah). There were no comments supporting this move in the article I read but the changes will go ahead as planned.
Very scary here also as I work in education. For years, people have "gone along to get along" without really accepting the narrative but wanting to keep their jobs. Also up to now, it's been easier to spot what was a fad and would fade (and can thus be easily ignored) but I don't think this is going away. Wish I had some answers but currently working to get out of debt so I can retire.

It's very scary. Even in the US it literally feels like totalitarianism has opened the door onto the abyss.
I don't know how to explain it other than it's a sensation of an invisible hand starting to crush down.
