[Verse 1]

I am gross and perverted

I'm obsessed 'n deranged

I have existed for years

But very little has changed

I'm the tool of the government

And industry too

For I am destined to rule

And regulate you

[Verse 2]

I may be vile and pernicious

But you can't look away

I make you think I'm delicious

With the stuff that I say

I'm the best you can get

Have you guessed me, yet?

I'm the slime oozin' out

From your TV set

[Verse 3]

You will obey me while I lead you

And eat the garbage that I feed you

Until the day that we don't need you

Don't go for help, no one will heed you

Your mind is totally controlled

It has been stuffed into my mold

And you will do as you are told

Until the rights to you are sold

[Interlude]

That's right, folks

Don't touch that dial

[Chorus]

Well, I am the slime from your video

Oozin' along on your livin' room floor

I am the slime from your video

Can't stop the slime, people, lookit me go

I am the slime from your video

Oozin' along on your livin' room floor

I am the slime from your video

Can't stop the slime, people, lookit me go

Wow. Just listened. Recollections of college days come flooding back. I never listened to the lyrics closely, loved the instrumentals.

One of a kind, that guy. “Gonna be a dental floss tycoon.” Indeed.

Zappa seemed to have insight about our culture far in advance... I can’t help thinking of the 4-part series, The Century of the Self (was available on YT (I mean PooTube) a couple of months ago). Zappa was long gone by the time the series came out.

Frank's dad created WMDs for the Deep State. No doubt that left Frank without any illusions. https://youtu.be/kaKNI5TTsAo?t=2684

I remember him talking to guest host Joan Rivers on The Tonight Show sometime in the late 80s (I think) positing that HIV was created in a lab, perhaps government lab. At the time I dismissed it as Frank being his usual eccentric self. Now I wouldn't be surprised if he had inside information.

GB- The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater. One of the best quotes ever.

I wonder if this is what the brick wall at the back of the theater will look like?:

The federal government collected $5.0 trillion in revenue in FY 2022.

Our current debt plus unfunded liabilities is $130,000,0000,000,000 trillion.

In other words; think about owing 96% more (with compounding interests) than you make annually. If someone were to start today, it would take 75 years to pay that down if you cut your budget by 7% every year, during that time, and/or get an annual raise that will leave 7% more disposable income.

That's a tits up, no shot, tight spot. Nobody seems to notice this, even though the math is easy.

While we're whistling past the graveyard, the "scenery" will be wheeled out and replaced with a Hellscape.

Does CRUNCH make a sound if nobody's "listening"?

Is easy though.

When you're too deep in debt, burn it down and cash the insurance, then start anew.

I just rolled out of bed and this is the first thing I saw in my laptop. Thanks Gatito, this is

hilarious and oh so true. Of course, the news is the biggest pile of clogged poo, however some tv shows are beginning to get some seepage from the toilet.

That took me a couple of glances to notice (as there are so many distracting elements to focus on) but then immediately understood why this is a Gatoland posting.

Purrfect!

Back when there was a late night TV host I'd watch 'Stupid Pet Tricks' segments on I said most consumer recycling was Stupid People Tricks. I knew the Waste Management facility was single stream, the different trucks picking up trash and recycling went to the same facility for processing. Even the same docks. Knowing that people sorting their trash was pointless. Human conditioning to make people *believe* they were helping the environment. The public policymakers mandating recycling and fining the noncompliant knew it was training people just like a pet to do their stupid tricks.

I remember one time a neighbor across the alley angrily accused me of using her recycling bin for my recycling (it was a public alley in a big city, plenty of passerby's). I laughed out loud in her face, told her I never did stupid people tricks like using separate recycle bins, and laughed at her for bothering to separate her trash in the first place. Let's just say she wasn't expecting that.

I used to watch the trash guys in my alley dump it all in the same truck. Stupid indeed
