Very true. So many people just don't open a book or a web page to check on things, they rely on others to do the work for them. Then you get this. Most people I know don't cook, don't clean their own houses, some cut their own grass... but don't grow one leaf of salad greens, only grass and flowers. Why not start taking care of ourse…

I was born 1956. We were partially raised by our paternal grandmother (dad divorced when I was a baby). She had chickens, a huge garden, cooked all our food from scratch, we’d do chores, collect eggs, pluck the chickens, go fishing, catch crawdads, etc. and oh yes, respected and listened to adults. In school I learned sewing, crochet, knitting, embroidery, cooking. And back then the boys had wood shop, metal shop, car repair. In other words, we learned skills and how to use our brains and hands. And I can’t help mentioning that we got all three types of measles and chicken pox. What happened?
The good old times. My mom unfortunately had a not very able mother and did not learn much of sorts. Dad is an avid gardener and now cooks too. What you mention are the necessary attributes to life. Make food and clothes and keep occupied.

Yes. Lack of occupation seems to be one of the causes for people to have the high level of baseline anxiety.
Wonderful !
