I am very grateful to Djokovic. It took guts and determination, and he probably so much money that it hurts even such a successful sportsman.

I hope people will see from this example how ludicrous the Corona dictatorship is, and also take strength for their own lives.

I may have to give up my job and leave my country (Germany) if things continue the way they go, and Djokovic's example strengthen my resolve.

(Also I am not interested in tennis, and I didn't know of him before)

I saw how lots of people now don't want to go see the tennis. Good thing. I hope he stand on his point and does not subject himself to the jabs. There must be lots of pressure on him. A true hero for the cause !

I hope Germany gets better. I love so much of that country and the people and want to be back. In 2/2020 sang in a crazy crowded concert in Berlin (Berlinale event) and the memory has kept me smiling.

Expand full comment

Me too, I'm a brit and I love Germany, and Germans. I once travelled around on my own for 3 weeks whilst reading a pretty hefty book on the social, political and economic history from post war to about 2005 I think it was, so I was thinking quite deep about things and I'd often think how amazed I was that Germany had gone from fascism to being the most peaceful, polite, friendly and down right civilised place I've ever been (and I've travelled a lot around europe former west and east).

I've been keeping an eye on what's been happening over there and am quite shocked by the situation now. I genuinely expected Germany to have been more like Sweden, and with it's clout, set an example to the rest of the world. Merkel was one of the few politicians that I would actually say I respected and then strange words started coming out of her mouth when she normally spoke with reason (as it seemed to me from her words that were reported in the British press at least).

I'd often thought about moving to Berlin and had made tentative plans to do so which never came to fruition, so in a parallel universe I'm there, and have tried to imagine what it would be like. I hope to be back there sometime soon and remember the good times

Expand full comment

Merkel was an early WEF acolyte. She's a globalist.

I think every citizen of every country should demand no association by any politician or influential figure (media-business-entertainment) to have relationship with WEF. But I am afraid it is a working pyramidal scheme so they have no problem whatsoever recruiting.

Germany felt like a dead end in autumn. At that time I visited London for a week and it felt like a free country with normal people - apart from some very odd and woke folks nobody seemed to really buy the narrative. Fell in love with Britain!

Germany is moving now - people are going to the streets and the protests are gaining traction - I hope we will win this one. El Gato is right - those f*****s tried too hard too fast and blew it bigly. It's beyond repair and the only question is if we will manage to walk them back where this thing started or will they manage to keep parts of the newly gained powers.

El Gato, Dr Malone, Dr Mike Yeadon, Steve Kirsch, Alex Berenson, Dr McCullough - not sure if we'd have this hope for winning it without you!

If you are not following the vaccine - NoCovid narrative, you probably will not really recognize Berlin right now. So many people toe the Covid line. The kind of people who go to the Berlinale above all, I am afraid.

Expand full comment

I fear that. It was so cool being there. Berlin has such a great reputation for supporting all kinds of music. It was crazy fun for days. I was told by so many to come back in Summer and see what it is like then, alas.

But the Berlinale types are probably just like Hollywood with the Branch Covidian attitude. Though for a while there, so many popular musicians were quietly not getting vaccinated, esp. with what happened to Clapton.

I had friends in Germany, but one passed and the other now has grandchildren. Have real good memories of Bavaria.

Expand full comment

I have fond memories of Germany. Spent four summers in Berlin and its neighboring Laende, when I was a teenager, living with a Wessie family. Then I found out the father was big in the "Man Made Climate Change" nonsense, flying all over the world to spout BS about his BS book to a load of charlatans and crooks. Then his son came out as a Champagne Communist and I fell out with him, big time. Now with my own family, we have been back to Germany several times, but in 2020 and 2021 it was DEAD. Streets dead, shops dead, anyone that was out and about was completely vacant and braindead, would not interact at all... slavish interpretation of rules, policing each other like crazy. So sad. But we met a brilliant German family while travelling in France. Travel is as wonderful as it always was! The Free still roam this world.

Expand full comment

Berlin especially has become extremely progressive.

It always has been corrupt, and I hear it is the only capital of any country which has a net negative on GDP (the other parts of Germany pay for it).

It gets more and more dilapidated, less things work. By the end of the decade it will look like the former East Germany.

From what I heard of San Francisco, Berlin is quite similar, but minus the tech companies or entrepreneurs.

A successful Berliner works for the state bureaucracy.

Expand full comment

You're correct about the "successful Berliner". The son is exactly one of those, totally unaware of how the normal people pay for his virtue-signalling ways, while telling them how to live their lives... he's super "progressive".

He was always very patronising to his Ossie peers at the Oberschule. And a sycophant to his fellow Wessies. I know which ones I prefered.

Expand full comment

Interesting to hear that. I have always thought that Germany can look a bit grubby at times, and what’s with all the graffiti everywhere (worse over here though!). But everything seems to work and I used to laugh to myself about that famous German efficiency. Is there an east west difference in this way the states have responded or is it pretty much the same all over?

Jan 18, 2022·edited Jan 18, 2022

It is not that bad. We have (still) a strong social system, so the poor do not get as desperate as in the US, and we also do not have that much of a drug crisis. And in Berlin we were always strangely proud of some kind of creative sleaze. Maybe like NYC was in the 70ies.

But we have areas now where you do not go, and knife crimes, and even the occasional shooting. These things were unthinkable 15 years ago.

It is still mostly ok, though, and we still have a middle class and money, so you still can have the superior morals of the modern left.

But if you extrapolate the same developments to 2030, it looks dire, at least for the big cities.

Believe it or not, antifa in Germany is engaging in counter-demonstrations against anti-mandate protests. Clown world indeed ... Can't make this shit up

Expand full comment

Left and Right have no meaning anymore (if they ever had).

The battle is between the state and the citizens; between collectivists and individual liberty; ideology and reality.

Antifa was founded by supporters of the Soviet Union, thus they are always on the side of the collectivists.

Expand full comment

In fairness, the Soviet Union was always opposed to fascism, at least after June 22, 1941. No questions, please, about events before that date. 😈 We have always been at war with Eurasia, or was it East Asia?

Expand full comment

This.

I say it slightly differently - the battle is between those on one side who do truly useful things to care for themselves and those closest to them, and those on the other side who tell everyone how to do things. It seems to align with the introvert-extrovert distribution of society.

And also: those who believe everything they are told, and those who are willing to think for themselves.

You think he went through this because he wanted to make a stand? No, he wanted to win Australian Open tennis tournament and just wanted to play.

Expand full comment

I agree. If he really wanted to take a stand he would have boycotted and refused to compete in countries like this. Looks like France said they will welcome him with open arms for the French Open regardless of his vax status. But didn’t Macron just say he intentionally wants to make the lives of the unvaccinated as inconvenient as possible? Will Novak still compete in the French Open? We’ll see.

Expand full comment

You are not up to date. France just passed a vaccination pass law which includes sporting events. Therefore, as of yesterday, Novak Djokovic cannot play in French Open. They say they will have no exemptions. Now, end of May is a long time away, so a lot can happen until then.

One of the ironies about this is that last year during French Open, there was a match between Nadal and Djokovic. It was an epic match that went long. There was a curfew in France at the time, so the rules stipulated for the match to stop so that people can empty the stadium. The match would then resume. (This happened in other matches before).

But Macron was watching the match and personally allowed the crowd to stay (therefore violating the curfew) and watch the rest of the match.

It was an internal politics play and Djokovic was the perfect scapegoat.

Large majority of Australians wanted him deported. Human nature. People have bottled their resentment for the government and lashed out at a guy who was not vaccinated but got a medical exemption to enter the country.

Expand full comment

Yes. They're VERY upset about anyone getting "special treatment"; basically "if I have to deal with this crap then he should too, regardless of being rich and famous"

Expand full comment

For someone so rich it would be easy to circumvent the vaccine. Just pay a doctor enough to certify it. especially if you are from that part of Europe, rife with corruption.

He deliberately announced that he is unvaccinated.

Expand full comment

He never announced he was unvaccinated! He has always been saying that he would not reveal his vaccination status. People speculated, but nobody knew for sure. The only reason we now know is because the transcript of his interview with Australian Immigration was published and when asked whether he was vaccinated, he said, "No, I am not."

I have family there thinking the same ......but where to go?

Mexico apparently dropped all covid restrictions. South Africa are going there too. UK, Denmark, Spain are moving that way. Eastern European countries are being pressured by the EU to implement restrictions but in fact barely anybody is enforcing them - population is mostly not vaxxed so the measures are very unpopular. The world is moving beyond this madness and the germans will follow - pretty late as usual, but I hope at least with some real german rigor

Expand full comment

My husband is German also and has been watching this go down mostly disgusted with his fellow countrymen. He tells me of how when he was in school the atrocities that occurred were drilled into the heads of students so that they might understand how so many of their parents / grandparents ended up either actively promoting or passively accepting policies that in the end led to horrific crimes against humanity. It was most important to understand why the German people were able to what they did because a lack of this insight could result in it happening again. I often wonder if he was one of the few who stayed awake during these history lessons, it is good to know there are more and by the size of the protests I have been seeing video of there are many more!

I hope you are correct in the places dropping restrictions. I saw an interesting short video on why Mexico has dropped all of it: the guy claims that the government is simply too weak to enforce any of it - the real ruling strength in Mexico is the drug cartels. Then if you move to Mexico you are free from government authoritarianism but subject to Drug cartel authoritarianism, they are both horrible. The difference is that the drug cartels will not force you to take their drugs!

Expand full comment

I grew up in Germany, and I agree, the monstrosity of the Nazis were drilled into us from early on. (For me it had a big effect, since many of my family were killed by the Nazis).

No it is crunch time: a new totalitarism is trying to take over.

And it turns out: what we learned is that totalitarism is only wrong if it wears funny mustaches. if it comes with the right buzzwords and looks nice, it is perfectly allright.

Killing people because they qre Jews: obviously wrong, teacher says so.

Killing people because they are unvaccinated: seems about right, teacher says so.

It amazes me how few see the wolves in sheep's clothing. In Canada students can graduate high school without ever learning about WWII and Hitler, or Stalin. Unless you select European history for grade 12 you can avoid this knowledge base altogether. Therefore, is it any wonder we are in this situation in Canada? (I opted to take the course - and studied history on my own as well - was reading Victor Hugo's masterpiece at 13 also - but I was a weird kid).

Expand full comment

Why should the state (who runs the school) teach you about how awful the state can be?

I understand my education better now as well: we were never taught that the German state was killing its own citizens, but only Hitler.

This is people still have a childish trust in the state.

Many of my family was killed during the times of the Nazis, and my grandparents emigrated, and when it is over they just came back (a bit later, in the 1960ies). I never understood why you come back to a society that wanted to kill you. I still don't understand it fully, but now I see that this is normal behaviour.

This! they are not so divergent that both thoughts cannot be entertained and acted upon!

Expand full comment

Why? The Austrian Government have done that quite effectively all by themselves. In the first place, they grant a visa to a visiting alien who (I'm assuming) engaged in no deception. Then, for craven political purposes, they renege on this permission. Yes, they no doubt have that right, but they fail to see how the rest of the world views such a petty, arbitrary action. From a health standpoint, the ban is totally irrational: the vaccines do not protect against the disease, in fact the disease is likely endemic nearly everywhere and/or already waltzing like Matilda through their supposedly Fortress Australia populace.

I'm not sure that I want to chisel Novak's face in stone next to Jackie Robinson's on the Mount Rushmore of courageous sports figures. When he was first granted entry to hell/Australia, he should have shown solidarity with the unvaxxed and refused to set foot in that benighted, malevolent nation.

I was a huge Packers fan who boycotted the NFL due to Wokeness, like you did. Glen Greenwald did an awesome interview about this:

https://rumble.com/vseldr-interview-with-tennis-player-tennys-sandgren-on-vaccine-mandates-djokovics-.html

Excerpt: "But still, like when it comes to a decision like this, it's like, OK, well, where are you going to look in 20 years time? Are you going to look back and be, you know, more upset with yourself that you let your career slip by because of your morals or you let your career slip by because of a decision that maybe you didn't think through enough? Or are you going to look back in 20 years time with how things are potentially going and the way that the state and the authoritarian state seems to be creeping up in Western countries all over the place with how they're implementing these mandates?"

Novak was already infected with Covid and thus has natural immunity. He is also one of the fittest people in the planet. He clearly poses no threat to anyone and is at no risk from Covid himself.

Australians went mad over Covid. They descended into a kind of fevered hysteria and deluded themselves into thinking that they could somehow magically eradicate a highly infectious respiratory virus. They couldn’t. Their failure is manifest:

“Australia Faces Deluge Of Omicron Cases And Hospitalizations…”

https://www.forbes.com/sites/siladityaray/2022/01/04/australia-faces-deluge-of-omicron-cases-and-hospitalizations-as-it-sticks-to-living-with-covid-strategy/amp/

So they need someone to blame. They need a scapegoat. So it’s Djokavic. They can’t admit they were wrong. They wrecked their country and surrendered their liberty out of irrational fear. And now their fear has turned into irrational anger.

They are rabid and delusional. And they turned on Novak because he never succumbed to their weird, paranoid delusions.

Did you know about the case that he lost which for him deported yesterday?

The private lawyers he used, appointed by Aus government, had a conflict of interest. There’s a view that since the law firm was set up in after being bought out in April 2010 specifically to fight cases against vax non-compliance, Novak using them was always going to be doomed.

Expand full comment

More info?

Expand full comment

https://hallandwilcox.com.au/news/hall-wilcox-acts-for-novak-djokovic-in-successful-application-to-have-visa-reinstated/

The lawyers are among one of Australia’s highest QCs.

They trialled to case on a merits base and lost, when cov rules had a number of fully legal based routes to consider.

For example: if your country says a recovery certificate is an acceptable alternative to double vax, then you have grounds. But merits based argument rather than status, is just a way of losing the case on a Sunday (which they did - and it’s unheard of having that kind of divorce case hearing on a Sunday anyway ).

https://hallandwilcox.com.au/manager-advocate-me/

That aside: all the law firm’s cases are pro-vaxx.

Take this their tweet from Twitter:

-“The Fair Work Commission's decision to uphold the dismissal of an #agedcare worker who refused to have the flu shot provides some reassurance to #employers “

The firm focuses almost exclusively on government Covid cases since April buyout. Also, they were appointed by govt. conflict if interest
