I'm pretty sure what she means is that FtM transgendered people who are urogenitally female and not sterilized by a sex-change modification can give birth, yet identify as men and therefore are men by her definition. If you define "men" as adult humans who identify as male, and "women" as adult humans who identify as female, then it makes perfect sense.

Expand full comment

Transgenderism is a mental illness where the person afflicted has delusions about their gender, or a desire to “present” as the other gender, but it in no way changes their actual gender. How one identifies themselves in their minds may or may not be based in reality, but their “beliefs” about how they “feel” does not change reality. Like all mammals, humans have binary sex. Period. No spectrum. There are rare deformities of the sex chromosomes, but they are within each sex, not across them.

We have people openly advocated child genital mutilation and sterilization because they convince themselves their semantics gymnastics changes reality.

Men cannot give birth. Period. No male mammal has ever gotten pregnant naturally, much less given birth. No human man ever has given birth. There are zero exceptions. A woman with mental delusions about her body or brain giving birth is still factually a woman giving birth.

The Maduro diet is a thing.

https://www.americasquarterly.org/article/the-maduro-diet-a-photo-essay-from-venezuela/

Venezuela’s political and economic crisis has done deep and lasting damage to its population’s health. In the past year, 74.3 percent of the population has lost weight — an average of 8.7 kilograms (19 pounds) per person – because of food scarcity, according to a recent study by three of Caracas’ largest universities (UCAB, USB and UCV) and the nonprofit Bengoa Foundation. The problem has its roots in 17 years of economic mismanagement and the gradual deterioration of Venezuela’s means of producing, importing and distributing foodstuffs and other necessities. The situation has gotten so dire that Venezuelans have termed the way they’ve modified their eating habits the “Maduro diet.”

Inflation is caused by printing money from thin air - so it’s backed by no value - and injecting it into the economy. Soooo, to counteract the inflation Governments have caused by money printing, Governments are printing more money to inject into the economy.

What’s wrong with this picture?

The UK Govt has given every person who pays Council tax - that’s anyone owning or renting a property - £150 to help with increasing prices (50%) of electricity/gas which it the Government* has caused with carbon tax, other green taxes, subsidies to wind & solar over the last few years and exacerbated with sanctions against Russia.

*Government is the collective noun for idiots. (They aren’t smart enough to be morons.)

Idiots. —Those so defective that the mental development never exceeds that of a normal child of about two years.

Imbeciles. —Those whose development is higher than that of an idiot, but whose intelligence does not exceed that of a normal child of about seven years.

Expand full comment

And you have a President who thinks inflation is caused by companies’ costs and profits being ‘too high’ and all they need do is lower these costs (over which they have no control), and reduce their profits. Then it will all work out fine as inflation is good for the economy, something… and we shall all have milk and honey for tea.

The fact that the market - that old supply/demand/price thing - actually determines prices and that if you pump trillions into the economy that means too much money chasing too few goods, demand exceeds supply and up go prices. And those supply shortfalls are on inputs too, so increases are on input costs and thus output prices, so there is a compounding effect throughout the economy. And Joe increasing taxes on corporations will result in mitigating those increases on decreasing payroll expense (fewer jobs/downward wage pressure) and increases to output prices and less profit for reinvestment to expand to meet demand.

It’s almost as if the economy was like a big clockwork mechanism, so if you tamper with a part here, it effects movement of other parts elsewhere.
