the epigram “be the change you want to see in the world” has been overused to the point of hackney.
but that does not make it any less true or any less effective.
and this goes for preventing change as well.
london has been installing a network of cameras to trace and fine cars as they drove within the new “ultra low emissions zone” in some half baked idea to charge drivers 16 pounds a day because “they pollute.”
this piles up rapidly to what could be thousands of pounds a year for many.
and as one can imagine, it was unpopular with quite a few folks.
and then, a funny thing happened.
*pardon me, i need to go finish laughing for a minute.
why, it’s almost as if it’s all but impossible to subdue a population that does not want to be subdued. and the blade runners retook the streets.
the problem is simple
and it’s not some crazy idea that they are just going to keep coming until they are stopped.
it’s really just a matter of perspective
with regard to societal memory of liberty
and the manifold justifications for tyranny.
and so choices must be made. (even if they are hard)
i mean, consider the alternative
choose well.
You know what else is an ultra low emissions zone? A graveyard.
Can climate elites lead by example by permanently eliminating their own emissions? It will boost their ESG scores! https://yuribezmenov.substack.com/p/how-to-raise-your-esg-score
Member the scene in V for Vendetta where the government uses a virus to seize control over the people? I member!
if your vehicle pollutes you can just pay a fee to continue to pollute,
that'll solve the problem!
