Public health and governments are displaying a myriad of cognitive biases throughout this dystopian nightmare - anchoring, herd following, confirmation bias and sunk cost fallacy - all on display and the majority of society has been played with nary a question or critical thought now that the Orange Man has been dispatched. Western societies have been captured and it is going to be a long tough slog to climb out of this sinkhole. I am 54 and I don’t think I will see it in my lifetime. I am fully preparing myself for a tough next 1-2 years. We will need to be mentally strong to get through this gaslighting and sleight of hand. Check out this data from Ontario public health. We have 12 people with Covid in ICUs and. our population is 14 million! BTW, all 12 are vaccinated

nicely explained... and exactly that! I am deeply disappointed with our health officials and I still hope that Fauci goes to jail one day.

Art, I am 56. I agree, the light at the top of the well we have been pushed in seems to get farther and farther away. Solutions abound, we just need the strength to pursue and implement them... Damn, the torpedoes.

A positive outcome of our country headed towards bankruptcy the potential for this army of entrenched bureaucrats losing their jobs. What would these people be like if they've had to make their living in the free market? I'm guessing they'd be a lot tougher and would have a lot more to be concerned about than orange men and viruses.

If these draconian policies haven't worked after 18 months, they never will. "Do as you're told" is the desperate plea, disguised as an order, of a martinet who has lost control. Response? Stare blankly at them for a moment, blink your eyes, turn away and continue whatever you were doing.

The current "learning" loop

Repeat what I tell you.

Tell another.

Have them repeat it back to you.

Now I tell you that you are educated.

Actually, micah6vs8, what you describe is *almost* the pedagogy practiced at nearly every level of Western education.

There’s a reason we say doctors ‘practice’ medicine. It’s not a sure thing, and progress is always being made. No one should ever be required/intimidated to take any medical procedure/drug, etc.

The last few years and certainly 2020, I found out just how many people merely cosplay being critical thinkers.

Speaking of lies, there are some people making a real concerted effort to convince us all our children are in danger from COVID. CDC documents just 3300 pediatric hospitalizations since the beginning of the pandemic, but some ignoramus is trying to tell me ped vent use has rocketed from 1 to 8 in a matter of days 😱. I have no idea where he's gotten this data because I cannot find it, but this summer wave appears to be similar to last summer. Gato, have you examined these claims by Fauci and co. that Delta is "coming for our children?"

Thanks to masks and isolation, RSV is skyrocketing in kids. This accounts for nearly all rise in hospital admissions in kids. All get pcr tested for covid, and we know the positives are 50-90% bogus, but the hospital gets a nice cash prize for every one.

Everything responds to incentives.

Expand full comment

I know Dr McCullough said the PCR tests detecting COVID19 when was the flu so maybe that is happening in regard to RSV and Covid. Kid comes in sick with similar symptoms, test for COVID, but it's actually RSV. My whole family had it last month.

Hell there are labs that have got positive pcr tests from *water.* Not to mention goat and pawpaws.

Yes, I just had an editor at our local newspaper (Lexington Herald-Leader) e-mail me that she could not publish that "children are at lower risk from Covid than older people". She linked some NYTs piece. In return I linked CDC data. These people are next level in their religious devotion to the fear cult which in this case translates into the Mask Cult. The day before school started 21/22 year, Kentucky Governor ordered all schools public and private to be masked, pre-schoolers included. Major counties had already opted for mask optional. Beshear did not want these control groups to exist. MSM sources circle the wagons.

I’m curious too. As well as the claim Delta is more deadly.

delta is far less deadly. the CFR looks to be 90-95% lower than alpha.

there is no evidence that delta is a greater risk to children.

it is not so much that delta is vaccine evading as that vaccine efficacy (at least in terms of sterilizing immunity which was always a tenuous and poorly supported claim) is attenuating rapidly.

even topol and CDC saying so.

there is a bit of a US spike in child hospitalization, but it's not from covid, it's from RSV.

https://twitter.com/kerpen/status/1425626300211937290?s=20

these kids come to hospital, then get found with trace covid and called "covid" because of the definitional games being played.

US hospitals seem to impart massive amounts of trace covid, their counting methodology was made more inclusive, and was moved from cdc to hhs with big fines for under reporting added.

it makes aggregate data very hard if not impossible to compare.

so they rely on anecdotes and made up stories.

it's the exact same playbook as last year to drive hysteria that hospitals are overwhelmed.

they aren't.

Thank you for taking the time to explain this. It's unbelievable how we are being gaslighted by the media and government. And very troubling how people who should know better like friends in a conservative FB group go along with the hatred/scorn of the unvaxxed. I have started to think the line from MacBeth: Something wicked this way comes. Seems like our whole culture has gone off it's rocker.

There is no variant because there is nothing to vary from. Until High Priest virologists stop changing the definition of the word "isolation", all we have is a partially sequenced particle originating from a toxic soup with many other things in it. Since that soup is artificially starved and poisoned, we are only working with particles that could just as easily be dead cellular debris rather than some exogenous invader. They won't even follow their own gold standard. There is no scientific evidence of anything new going on in the world of microbes.... Unless you count cobbled together, computer generated models of partial DNA sequences and cartoons as hard evidence. If the CDC can't even locate the 'thing' in the first place, you can be sure they have no idea how to identify the bent over too fast variant of the original thing.

Maybe we should start treating Germ Theory for what it really is.
